In the leak scandal that led to five indictments for a top-level White House official, reports this week cite that former US Central Intelligence Agency employee Valerie Plame was allegedly following Iran's nuclear activities before her identity was revealed.
Democrat Party Senator Frank Lautenberg, in a letter to CIA Director Porter Goss, asked for an evaluation of the harm outing Plame has caused.
In the letter, the Senator reminds Director Goss of recent news stories which report that before Plame was outed, she participated in intelligence works on the Iranian nuclear dossier, and her subsequent outing gravely jeopardized the US ability to monitor Iranian efforts to obtain nuclear arms. If this is true, disclosure of Plame's identity risked American national security, Lautenberg warns in his letter.
Plame is a WMD (weapons of mass destruction) expert and the wife of former Ambassador Joseph Wilson. A few days after her husband asked for public justification of the Iraq war, Plame's identity was leaked to the press in July 2003, forcing her retirement from the CIA

She was doing a great job considering she was letting her husband go around the nation LYING publicly about his report on Niger, telling the American people there was no threat when there was a threat. (acid sarcasm off).
I wouldn't trust this chick to do anything more important than pose in her pajamas. Am I the only one who thinks there is something EXTREMELY bizzare about this woman's behavior, both inside and outside the CIA?
Who would pose in a car in an obvious spy spoof when they work at the CIA, and then pose for a cover in her PJ's when she is in the middle of a serious issue.

If Valerie was working on WMD it explains why the CIA has not been able to find their ass with both hands for the past 10 years or so.

I have not heard that she retired because of this (or for any other reason)
I've always been in the minority though thinking that she may have had an asignment that we didn't know about.

Yes! Hmmm. Maybe the movie, Domino, was about her! ...or even Catwoman.

Lautenberg on LeakersSenator Lautenberg's legislation would, for the first time, empower whistleblowers to pursue their case in court instead of having to go through the cumbersome federal bureaucracy. This bill extends whistleblower protections to National Security Whistleblowers and Federal Contractors. It would make the worst cases of whistleblower retaliation a criminal offense, and would hold those who engage in prohibited personnel practices civilly liable.
I wonder who he considers whistleblowers... I would bet some have harmed national security, but if they've also harmed the President, then Dems approve.

One could only imagine where we would be now if we had followed her intel advice. Both Saddam and Iran would be on the verge of nuclear WMD capabilities. Both would have been almost untouchable at that point in time.

Wonder who is in need of this evaluation, got to watch what liberals ask, they tend to be talking above our heads?

Just a little "monkey dust" from the Lout to remind everyone that Democrats like McCarthy aren't the only ones who leak sensitive classified information.

This bill extends whistleblower protections to National Security Whistleblowers and Federal Contractors. It would make the worst cases of whistleblower retaliation a criminal offense, and would hold those who engage in prohibited personnel practices civilly liable. Thanks for mentioning this. I was unaware (but not surprised) that such proposed legislation existed. If this were put into law, everyone with access to classified information would become their own classification authority, and prosecuting spies and traitors would become practically impossible. Another good reason to vote Republican in the next election, and a great campaign issue, if only the Republicans had the stones to exploit it.

I had no idea either. I just wanted some example of him doing something that could harm the US, and searched & found this. This was it (even though there may be true whistleblowers in need of protection, there surely are ways to make oneself heard).
Peaceniks LUV Lautenberg Lautenberg scores 100% by SANE on peace issues Peace Action, the merger of The Committee for a Sane Nuclear Policy (SANE) and The Freeze, has effectively mobilized for peace and disarmament for over forty years. As the nation's largest grassroots peace group we get results: from the 1963 treaty to ban above ground nuclear testing, to the 1996 signing of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, from ending the war in Vietnam, to blocking weapons sales to human rights abusing countries
More evidence (as if any were needed...that this is just a pose).
