"Woof" is used in broadcasting to say "stop," "that's enough" or to mark a specific point in time -- which is what is done in this case. "The show show starts in 3 minutes: WOOF!" Means in 3 minutes from-- NOW!
A Grave Injustice
Nearly 3,000 people died in the September 11th terrorist attacks, but yesterday a jury decided that the only indicted co-conspirator in those attacks should live. Is that fair?
Bug Bites in the Big Easy
As if it didn't have enough problems, New Orleans is now apparently being overrun by mosquitoes. The mosquito control commission--like much of the city--was decimated. But now, a private organization is taking the lead in ridding New Orleans of this problem.
Don't Pitch to Barry
Barry Bonds is now two home runs shy of passing Babe Ruth on the All-Time Home Runs list. If one Atlanta man has his way, Bonds will never get those two home runs. Vince Coyner wants pitchers to intentionally walk Bonds every time he's at the plate. Will it work?
Whatever DID happen to McKinney? Anything? The Barrett report, I fear, is lost. Too many people seem to have intimidated too many people. Able Danger still has a chance..
Gee, Baynative, didn't you get the word?
NOTHING exists unless it first appears in the NYSlime.
(I've gotta stop posting before I get my coffee. Entirely too sarcastic and cynical.)
Oops...just noticed we'll HEAR a lot from Brian...sorry for the homonym oops...
Good morning -
Super Max? I certainly hope so. I have been to Canon City and seen the place and it ain't pretty even though it is set in a beautiful area of conservatives. I doubt he will get any bleeding heart guards.

Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity? Job 2:10 In the fall of 1982, Deborah Kiley set out with three other young people to deliver the 58-foot yacht Trashman from Maine to Florida. Off the coast of North Carolina, they encountered gale winds and mountainous seas that sank their boat. Enduring 4 grueling days at sea without food or fresh water, the crew clung to life in a rubber dinghy in shark-infested waters.
In her book Albatross, Deborah recalls how one of the crew shouted curses at God for their dilemma. Despite her fatigue, Deborah silently recited The Lords Prayer and asked God to teach her through this crisis. Later, the same young man drank seawater, became delirious, jumped overboard, and was eaten by sharks. Eventually, the survivors were rescued by a Russian freighter.
Each of us responds in different ways to a crisis. Centuries ago, Job was hit by one wave of bad news after another. At one point his wife told him to curse God and die. Jobs response was profound: Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity? (Job 2:10).
The next time a crisis hits, recognize Gods sovereignty and do as Deborah Kiley didask God to teach you something through it.
O Lord, I would not ask You why
These trials come my way
But what there is for me to learn
Of Your great love, I pray. D. De Haan
The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. Job
I really hope the implication isn't that the President is in the pay of the Mexicans. Please...it's too early.
Good morning, Mayor...thanks so very much for the Words of wisdom..
Well, I watch both...probably the only 2 network shows I DO watch.
I hope his only visitors are the Aryan Nation types locked up there.
I'm not implying anything. Read into it what you will.
Of course, Tony may be in an even better position now to see that the Barrett Report and Able Danger come to the forefront.
When the show first started, the day after the announcement, RP showed up and told us all to hang in here because she was expecting a lot of new things for this show. I haven't seen her since, unless she's lurking. RP, are you there?
Buenos dias ya'll. Thanks for the ping Lee. Only 4 more days until we see Tony's first press conference.
Any thoughts on last Idol this morning? I think the decision was correct. Don't know how many more Wednesday nights Katherine can survive. I don't mean getting voted off. I mean she appears to be a wreck waiting for the results.
Wow... that is so snatched.
Ramzi Yousef, the mastermind behind the first WTC bombing in 1993, is in the supermax prison in Colorado, which is where Moussaoui will go.
Yousef has continued to correspond with jihadists since his incarceration.
Ramzi Yousef and Khalid Shaikh Mohammed of the 1993 WTC bombing and the Operation Bojinka plots, is in a maximum-security prison, sentenced to hundreds of years of prison time for his plots. However, he can communicate with Gregory Scarpa Jr., a mob figure in the cell next to him. The FBI sets up a sting operation with Scarpas cooperation to learn more of what and whom Yousef knows. Scarpa is given a telephone, and he allows Yousef to use it.
However, Yousef uses the sting operation for his own ends, communicating with operatives on the outside in code language without giving away their identities. He attempts to find passports to get co-conspirators into the US, and there is some discussion about imminent attacks on US passenger jets. Realizing the scheme has backfired, the FBI terminates the telephone sting in late 1996, but Yousef manages to keep communicating with the outside world for several more months. Khalad Sheikh Muhammed is a goner.
I would have preferred Elliott on the "voted off" list, but that's me and my wife. I think Elliott is next. After that, it's anyone's game. Katherine's my favorite; I agree with you she does get to be a nervous wreck, but she hangs in there. Taylor is my favorite guy; my wife loves him and was thrilled to find out she can still vote for him; Chris has the teeny-bop rock vote. I hope he goes after Elliott and that the top 2 are Taylor and Katherine. But...??? It's up to "America"...
NO MORE CIVILIAN trials for terrorists. The legal system isn't built for it.
Hi Def...Good morning, and how are you today?
May Day Power Line Video has posted the final video report by Andrew Marcus on the demonstrations around the United States this past Monday. Andrew's report incorporates the work of Evan Coyne Maloney in New York and our other correspondents who answered the call for coverage of the demonstrations that John put out last week. Thanks to Joe Malchow, Andrew, Evan and eveyone else involved in helping us bring this important document to our readers. Please check it out.
Did you see this?
Frustrated, I can't get my pictures to upload to Photobucket because they are not in my sample pictures files. I guess you were probably expecting a "fine and you?" LOL
Remind me in freepmail to send you something re: AD when I get back.
I did...I'm just going to ignore it for now...it's too early to fight about such absurdity.
I have those days all the time defcon...it's perfectly OK to rant...
Just remember, "fake but accurate". ;)
LOL, I always just have to complicate things. The way I save photos is automatic and now I can't figure out how to extract the URL's, but it's not like it's life or death, I will figure it out eventually!
When my wife comes back Sunday, I'm going to have to figure that out with her new computer where it has the slot to insert the chip...I've always wanted to do that.
Lawyer for Moussaoui's mother vows to fight for his return to France.
She has checked in severral times. I hope, if nothing else, she may get someone else to freep with us. B&J take e-mails. Someone needs to freep, too.
Computers are so fun. Ten years ago I could barely turn one on! Who says old dogs can't learn new tricks?
Yes, I feel acutely the loss of that real time give and take we had with Tony. That's really rare.
This mainframe dog learns PC Tricks too...but very slowly. Sort of like the dog who sits when you want him to beg and vice versa. I pick it up but it sometimes takes a while.
Late, sorry. :-/
First finals test is done. Checkmark!! :-)
Later, we have lunch out and United #93.
That real time feedback helped build this thread, and had to have had an impact on Tony's audience numbers. WKRC has dropped B&J and have gone to Laura. I can't help but wonder what other stations have gone.
I have a secret hope that some conresscritter wanting favors from the president through Tony will release the Barrett report.
I also hope Santa brings me a new puppy. ;-)
Need tea to drown the cynicism. lol
Hey, Fox back pedalled on signing the new Mexican drug law. Maybe there's hope that Bush can slap him into shape.
All right... congrats on the test! Let us know how the film is. I'm looking to see that soon myself!
