Hekmatyar wants to fight under the command of Ben Laden
- the islamist leader Afghan Gulbuddin Hekmatyar stated to want to fight under the command of the chief of terrorist organization Al-Qaïda Usama Bin Laden and his right arm Aymane Zawahiri, in a video recording diffused Thursday by the chain qatariote Al-Jazira.
"We hope to take part in a battle that they would lead and of which they would carry the standard, and in which we would line up on their side as partisans", Gulbuddin Hekmatyar in its message pronounced in Arabic declared.
Former Afghan Prime Minister and declared opponent of the Afghan mode of president Hamid Karzaï, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar is officially declared "terrorist" by the United States.
"We thank all the Arab moujahidine, in particular sheik Usama Bin Laden and the professor Aymane Al-Zawahiri and the other leaders who helped us in our jihad against the Russians by offering immense sacrifices that neither us, nor the future generations, will forget", it continued.
It also greeted the truce suggested by Ben Laden in the Occident, considering it necessary "to recall the truth to the world".
"For saying to the world, that they are the Americans and their comrades Europeans, who declared the war against the Moslems and lit the wick in Palestine, Afghanistan and Iraq", it declared.
According to the islamist leader, the Americans and Europeans "try to control the Islamic States, that is to say directly or in their imposing their collaborators".
"They plunder the goods of the Moslems, prevent them from having Islamic governments and deprive them of their right to self-determination", estimates it.
Someone out there is in need of an attitude adjustment visit by a Predator drone...
Hey, Bin Laden needs the morale boost. He's a had a very bad few weeks. LOL!
This guy in reality is much more dangerous in that part of the world than OBL or Zawahri. He is a well respected(in the warlord sense) leader of his followers. He has a long history of battling the Soviets, and was involved in the shelling of Kabul which in part led to the rise of the Taliban. He poses much more of a threat to the stability of Afghanistan than OBL hiding in a cave, or outsiders like his Egyptian minion Zawahri. This is something to keep an eye on for sure.
Why? Nothing's really changed, IMHO. I view this as a morale boost for OBL, nothing more.
Good Plan! Please send coordinates.
