Worse economy since Hoover. J. Edgar or that other guy?

When the Dow hits 11,800 the MSM will conveniently forget history and start blaming the low NASDAQ and dot-com bubble burst on the president.

Dow Closes at Fresh Six Year High, women and children hit hardest. In completely unrelated news, democrats, socialists, communists, and Pat Buchanan are on suicide watch.

The dollar takes its cue from the bond market and the bond market responds negatively to good news for fear of higher interest rates that a stronger economy might generate.

Can Soros keep us under 11,800 until 2008? ;^)The total value of all shares of all 30 companies in the Dow is roughly 3 Trillion Dollars...
Soros' net worth is approximatley 11 Billion...
Please tell us your not one of those lunatic fools who think that George Soros can manipulate a market with the depth and breadth of the DOW, or the world oil market?
I doubt George Soros could manipulate much of anything...let alone opinion...

Your average voter knows how good or bad the economy is, based on how much more they are spending for commodities they are used to using, gasoline just being one of these. If you have 4 to 5 dollar a gallon gasoline in August, do you think the voting public is going to want to hear a long drawn out(but factually correct) explanation as to why, or are they just going to "throw the bums out?"

I am a bit disgusted w/Bush for other reasons, however I think everyone can agree this President has had more major catastrophic events to contend with then any other President I can think of short of Roosevelt and Lincoln. I suppose the point is arguable, but at any rate why can't Bush do as Reagon did and meet the nation over and over again. Just one on one to the camera? I recall Reagan did this effectively; or is my memory just playing games? Press meetings are too hard to manage and State of the Unions are to pageantry oriented. Simple talks to the camera are compelling. V's wife.
