When Cheney is "infuriating" people, I figure he's right on target.

Gorbachav is a whiner. Putin is an ex-KGB pinko thug.

Seriously, Russian women are incredible. Most of them have nuclear engineering or physics degrees in their 20s.

Unfortunately, it takes a Physics degree to just MOVE one in their 50's

Its a monopoly with seized petrol assets run by members of the russian government. ==

Petro assets belongs to russian people not to some oligarkhs who stole it by bribing goverment beurocrates.

You defend outright robbers and scum oligarkhs whose place in prison for life. I hope you are not such bad person yourself. But russian proverb says: "Tell me who sis your friends and I tell you who you are".

Nunn-Lugar is a few billion every year, and its been in effect for about a decade. (2/3 cut in stockpile)

30 Billion is just a unofficial guess.

The point is: Why can't Russia at least pay us in oil, if not cash?

I defend free markets not "Nationalization a.k.a. seizing private sector assets" like Hugo Chavez,Bolivia,Iran, and russia. This would be like the US government seizing the
North American assets of ExxonMobil,ConocoPhillips,Chevron,BP,Shell and rolling them into one huge company with its board members run by the US congress or cabinet. This would allow the US to exert political pressure on countries that are dependant on this monopolies petrol. That my friend is called authoritarian cronyism. Fascist communism comes to mind.To all the other members on FR its usless to argue with a rabid russian national they are brainwashed by their state run media's propaganda against the west.

AHHHH MOTHERLAND!!!! You all are a pathetic joke and the democracies of the world see right through you.

"Mr. Putin is just trying to keep qualified people in place to run his government."

That's why Putin arrests and jails 'troublesome' CEOs that might become political opponents? (Think of if Bush arrested and jailed Soros and William Buffett).

Oh.

Bush and the Congress should take a few lessons from Cheney.

"Does Putin have any choice?"

Putin has the power and he has the choice.
He could stop interfereing in Ukraine and stop trying to recreate the USSR.
He could stop trying to get Govt-control over media and create a truly free press.
he could stop initimidating opponents etc.

Ol' KGB habits die hard.

I think there are new laws regarding that.

Seriously? Have they changed the K-1 visa process?

you must be confusing Russian women with Ukrainian women. Sure some are Ford agency material but venture from the touristy areas or the M.O.B. sites and even the young ones look like Babushkas...

Certianly wasnt the case when I went there.

Nunn-Lugar is a few billion every year, and its been in effect for about a decade. (2/3 cut in stockpile) 30 Billion is just a unofficial guess.

Well, OFFICIAL numbers are much much smaller (search Google: Nunn-Lugar costs) and the money were spent on destruction/dismantling of Soviet/Russian missiles, nuclear materials and not only in Russia proper but also in Ukranie, Kazakhstan etc ... It was a good business for America.

Why can't Russia at least pay us in oil, if not cash?

Why Russia should pay for disarming herself?
