I will also take Rudy over McCain anyday, and will also take almost any GOP candidate over Hillary or other crypto-socialist Dem who would sell out our country in a heartbeat and put our very lives at risk.

A number of us who are Christians and love this forum have sensed the work of Satan in trying to destroy it by ripping us apart and thus, destroying the effectiveness we have on this country, politically and more importantly morally. There are those whose behavior is indecent and immoral, and those whose obvious goal is to cause division among us..........even among decent folks like you and me, who basically agree.

First let me say Saturday was NOT a good day for me
and you may have been my “ventilation” and for that I apologize.
There are 2 things that are very upsetting to me about FR
and I believe satan is right in the middle of both.

One is the freedom and SUPPORT the evolutionist
have here. They can say, do and post anything they want to
without any fear of reprisal.
Oh every now and then for appearance sake they get a slap
on the wrist but that's about it.
It is obvious to anyone involved they have at least one or more moderators in their mist.
A creationist will be warned, suspended or banned for the most minor infraction of the rules while evos can get away
with everything and anything. I may even be history for being critical in this one post.
Oh some of the evos claim to believe in God or "god"
as they put it. But you, I and all Christians know
it is a far cry from believing in God to being a born
again Christian. They are satan's little helpers and
don't even know it. The sad part is the powers that be
are very supportive of them. I think that is because
for the most part they have been here a long time
and "donate" to the cause.
There are many good Christians and non Christians who battle them everyday here. They need our prayers and support.
The other thing that is upsetting to me is
the "arguments" (for lack of a better word) that go on between the Christians themselves.
I don't mean things like those that went on between us
but things of a doctrinal or Spiritual nature.
I have seen and been involved in arguments about
"once saved always save" , water baptism, speaking in tongues, Bible translations, music, predestination and a number of other things.
If we spend our time arguing amongst ourselves
that allows them "free time" to spread untruths and
further their cause.
Paul said:

Eph. 4:1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.
Eph. 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
Eph. 4:3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Eph. 4:4 There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called—
Eph. 4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
Eph. 4:6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through a
Eph. 4:11 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,
Eph. 4:12 to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up
Eph. 4:13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Unity would be a good starting place.
Have a great day and may God Bless.

> I doubt you as are aware of the issue as those who follow it closely. There is a threat to RKBA, and it wouldn't take much to tip the scales.

What's to be aware of other than that gun laws are different in NYC and need to be different from those in whatever swamp it is where you fire your artillery? I think you gun slingers need to be aware that the Founders created States to manage their own affairs, precisely because of regional differences. The President enforces federal laws, and if there is a law that says you can't keep plastic explosives and machine guns in your arsenal, it's because representatives from ALL the States voted for that law. You just have to live with it. Now go take some target practice.

Wow! That is a GREAT post, WKB..........and I agree with every word.

I have spent time on the Crevo threads........a lot for a while..........but what you have observed was also obvious to me, and I slowly withdrew from those threads. The worst offense, IMO, was the "I'm a Christian (lie), and I think creationists are destroying the conservative cause." People arguing that faith in God, and belief in HIS word (i.e. Creation!) was bad for conservatism and America. Unbelieveable! But surely of Satan.

I have also avoided the Christian against Christian arguments, believing as you do that if we are truly One in Christ, as the Scripture calls us to be, the differences should be minimized and our unity in Christ magnified. Another good point.

Thanks for sharing that, and thanks for praying for Free Republic. It is a great place of freedom and opportunity to spread God's word and the truth of new life through His Son, Jesus Christ, as well as a wonderful place to share political views with like-minded conservatives, and yes, to argue in spirit with those with whom we have differences.

BUT...........none of this is about Rudy Giuliani (whom I believe neither of us support), so perhaps we should end this. :)

Thanks SO much, WKB. There is nothing better, IMO, than resolving misunderstandings and then fellowshipping with a brother or sister in Christ. THIS is what it's all about.

Have a blessed day!

"But here in Ohio, we have the opportunity to elect one of the most completely conservative candidates we have EVER had as our Governor. Ken Blackwell."

Is he Presidential material? Maybe he can run in 2008 if he wins in 2006.

I don't know how old you are. I'm sixty.

I remember watching a great, good and decent man get nominated for the Office of President of the United States at a Republican Convention in 1964. That man was Barry Goldwater.

I also remember watching a bunch of slithering, slimy, smirking Limousine Liberals: Nelson Rockefeller, Jacob Javits, and Sentor Keating, ooze their way out of their seats in the convention as soon as his name was announced.

They refused to support the party choice in 1964, along with a host of other northeastern limousine liberals - RINO hadn't been invented yet.

As a result of their active oppostion, in many cases, to the candidate of their own party, the United States got Lyndon Johnson and the catastrophic liberally orchestrated Viet Nam War and all the fall-out which resulted from that disgracefully directed conflict.

Nor has this behavior been a thing of the past. Birdbrain Chrissie Whitman (Thank you Ann Coulter) actively campaigned AGAINST Oliver North who ran as a Republican in Virginia while she was Governor of New Jersey. Rudy Giuliani actively supported Demcorat candidates in New York and New Jersey when he was mayor of New York.

I hate "limousine liberals" more than Dems.

You say Godwine, despite his liberal credentials, is preferably to the alternative. Perhaps. 80% isn't bad. But there ARE RINOs out there who are far from 80%. The trio I just mentioned were.

I disagree with your assessment of Bush II as being a conservative. I would more likely categtorize him as a pragmatic true moderate with some conservative leanings.

The left has used words as weapons, to help their cause.
They have been very generous with the term "moderate", applying it to out and out liberals like Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, and Olympia Snowe, while always using the qualifying adjective of "far right wing" when referring to conservatives. Consequently, when we see a true moderate, we tend to view them as conservatives. This has been true with Bush and is one of the reasons the leftist base hates him so vilely - because he has been smeared as a conservative.

I simply don't believe in the "big tent" philosophy for the Republican Party. There is no room for conservatives in the Democrat Party - there should be no room in the Republican Party for liberals.

With the situation in Congress as close as it is, token Republicans have their value in controlling the Senate and House Committees - very important factors.

But if in the long run, the Repubs had a real stranglehold on Congress, which they COULD GET, if they followed their political philosophy and the wishes of their base, flushing out people like DeWine and Snowe would, in the long run be better for the party. With a Congress in control of the Repubs, far-leftist representatives would only look even more ridiculous, and also be totally ineffective.

But, as the situation now stands, I guess your support for that liberal DeWine makes sense.

Good luck in the gubernatorial race and please keeo this group updated on it.

I'm almost 57, and I remember the Goldwater/Rockefeller situation well, which is why I pointed out that things are better now than they've been in the past in the Republican party.

There are actually more conservatives now than there were 50 years ago.........or before that.

If you think historically, ZULU, then you know that the 'big tent' was expanded to include real conservatives........like Ronald Reagan, and yes, George W. Bush. Would a Ronald Reagan have succeeded in 1964?? Not likely. Neither would George W. Bush.

The conservative movement is FAR stronger than it was in 1964. I remember those days all too well.

That's why I'm optimistic about the future of this party. We just need to inject some courage into these wimpout guys in Congress, and keep sending the brightest and best there.

I'll keep you posted about Blackwell. He's the real deal, and I think his chances are very good. But then I'm an optimist. :)

Why is it, then, that we are exposed to a constant barrage of complaints from New England, that our liberty is at the root of your violence problem? If you wish to be ruled by your lowest common denominators, be my guest, but, don't blame it on my liberties, when they slaughter each other. If your local barbarians are endangering you, personally, it may be because you won't protect your own, and they know it.

According to Rudy and Bloomie, New York wouldn't have any violent crime if criminals did not buy out of state firearms.
