Even by the exceedingly high standards of scandal pioneered by the House of Kennedy, Rep. Patrick is no JFK.
When he played bumper cars in our nation's capital at 3 in the morning, appearing intoxicated - but later insisting he was just on pills - the shnook was alone.
That is, except for his pathetic bag of excuses and his famous name, which still holds the power to get a guy out of a jam without a Breathalyzer or a body-cavity search.
Let's recap.
Kennedys, you see, never pay for their criminal recklessness. Now that Patrick has declared himself the victim, he's off limits.

Until now, booze, drugs and females were as inseparable on any cursed Kennedy evening as Teddy, a bottle and a missed bridge. I guess after Teddy's fateful drive into the drink at Chappaquiddick, sane women have soured on driving with a Kennedy.

I have read this numerous times, but why haven't The Weekly Standard or National Review written a "Why does HRC have FBI files?" story and gotten this out there? And why would the FBI let her have them?
I have heard this for years but if anyone has any RECENT info on the status of this, I'd love to read it.

If this story had not gotten out to the public, Patrick Kennedy would not have been startled by his behavior and would not have sought any kind of treatment.
What I find so disturbing about this 'incident' is that this man goes to work drunk and/or high and writes the laws by which we common folk must live. But because he is a Kennedy, no rules or laws apply to him.
Look to the future..... how about a Kennedy/Clinton ticket.

Just heard on FOX News this A.M. the "watch captain" had been "relieved" of his duties. A minor TEMP. thing I presume. I'm really surprised that after the Cythinia McKenney debacle, the Cap. Police didn't go "hardball" and treat him as they would ordinary folks!

Actually, Teddy got his back brace from standing up in an Aero Commander which crashed during a busted instrument approach, in which the pilot was killed as I recall, because Ted "needed" to land even though the weather was below minimums. Kennedys and airplanes (and cars) are a lethal combination.
How does he know he didn't drink any booze? He says he doesn't remember anything, getting up, getting dressed, driving, (while blind) car lights were off, just missed a cop, wrong way on a one way....Just how does he know?
To add on to your post, Ted was pulled out of the wreckage of the plane by Sen. Birch Bayh, father of the current Indiana senator. Bayh and his wife were not seriously injured in the crash.

See, that eeevvvil drug not only put him in a dddeeeep sleep, it also managed to (shudder) CHANGE him from his jammies into his street clothes before FORCING him to get into his car and....well, you know the rest.
