GOOD MORNING!
Thanks again for hosting this awesome thread!!!
Even Fox will be hard to watch this morning.
Got a good morning chuckle on F & F when Eleanor Clift tried to compare Hillary Clinton -- like her or hate her -- to Ronald Reagan.
[By the 08 election cycle, the MSM supporters will have Hillary C appear to be the most conservative and saintly candidate in the field of either party. The remake is slowing progressing.]
This is the MSM's pathetic attempts to prevent the Bush administration starting any kind of recovery in the polls/public perception etc. It's obvious to me that they are starting to get the message about getting their message out and the MSM are going to try and stop any kind of poll number turnaround before it starts.
Good morning AB, and all. Thanks again for the thread.
Larry Kudlow is hitting it out of the ballpark on CSPAN right now. He interviewed President Bush for about 20 minutes for his Friday show, and CNBC can't seem to find time to repeat it. Some of it can be seen on the MSNBC website.
He's baaaaaack!
If you are the party out of power you don't want the President's poll numbers to bottom out in the spring when the elections aren't until November. The voters have very short memories.
....plus Dan Balz from the Washington Post and Todd Purdum from Vanity Fair.
Yea, timmy. Lotsa balence here
I am already late leaving for Key West, but will check in when I can.
Phsstpok did do a fantatstic jobn the pre-thread so I hope eveyone will stop by and bump it a little.
Pelosi will be on to follow up her interview where she outlined her plan after the 2006 elections. She was over confident about their chances of taking back the House. When asked about impeachment, she said something like, there will be investigations, who knows where they will lead?
When was the last time he had an actual conservative on?
Wake me in late '07/early '08...maybe then I'll watch...too much navel-gazing...
Perhaps the Bush impersonator has to reclaim his liberal 'cred" in order to work in "the business." Does Steve Bridges appear on Leno or such shows? He might have a lot of 'splainin' to do, for cooperating in a skit with the real President Bush.
Kudlow is almost always right on target. He's a grownup and has some historical perspective. Good man.
ROFLLLLLL!!!
Great pic to start my morning!
For the 6th week, Betsy Fischer knocked Nicolle Wallace's door without success, getting ANYONE from WH. Betsy Fischer is executive producer of MTP. After all this "Exclusive with Nanci Pelosi" is joke.
Will Russert pound Nancy Pelosi about atleast her colleagues' problems, like:
» William Jefferson (Nigerian money scandal)
» Mullahan (non-profit foundation scandal)
» Patrick Kennedy (known to all)
» Jon Conyers (his wife's bar fight)
Also interesting, how conflicted, his panel members are. Todd Purdum is the husband of Dee Dee Myers, who when fired from NYTimes, was hired by Russert's editor wife at Vanity Fair. Dan Balz(who in 2004 predicted that is Kerry's race to lose) is taking a buy-out from WP and (possibly)looking for a job again from Russert's wife.
Good morning, DoctorMichael. I watched Michael Tomasky. Among other things, he agrees that the media are in the pocket of the Administration and that they tried to do a blackout on Stephen Colbert's execrable appearance and the correspondents' dinner. A total loon.
Good morning, and thanks for the thread.
I'm not sure I have enough Maalox in the house to watch Specter.
MSM is, once again, about three months behind the curve. The prospects of the GOP Painting the Map Red have increased dramatically in just the past month.
LK: I have never seen him better, Hugh, and I've known him for over 20 years. In fact, he and I used to room together at a golf outing in California for a couple of years. This goes back to the middle 80's. And he was relaxed, he was calm, he was optimistic. When I challenged him during this interview, he was more than happy to come back to me and defend his positions. He looked well rested. I mean, I was very, very impressed. I've had a bunch of phone calls that people said they've never seen him look better.
The interesting thing was after the cameras went down, he stayed with me for another 25 minutes in the same chair. And we start taking back and forth. He wants to talk. And we're talking about goofy Republicans in the Senate, and how they're departing from first principles. We talked about the war, which he thinks we are winning. We talked about the economy and the tax cut strategy. I mean, he just stayed there and talked when the cameras were off. It was absolutely fascinating. Absolutely fascinating.
The economy is cooking. The government in Iraq is forming. The battle over the judges has begun again. The tax cuts will get to the president's desk soon. And the immigration debate seemws to have settled on this center-right proposition. So the corner has been turned.
"Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Republican party??!!!"
He is very refreshing.
yeah, okay......
someone must have spiked my coffee......
A Bush impersonator on NBC? Did I read that right? Up until now, they at least used to pretend that these Sunday morning shows were news and commentary shows.
Wow. How about that? Thanks for the insights from Kudlow- they're reassuring.
Sounds like Mr Tomasky needs to change pharmacists..
John McCain really needs to go home to Arizona. There are reports on the internet that people are fencing off property near the border. Illegals are pouring in, the understanding is that if they can get here in the next few months they will be granted citizenship.
How come the MSM isn't covering this?
Or spend a weekend with Patches.
You know the answer.
As I understand it, one part of the plan is to get rid of the new Medicare presciption thingy. This will be interesting because I am hearing more and more about this and it is turning out that, once people work through the complexities and sign up, they really, really like it, AND the cost is coming in below projections due to the competition which appears to be built into it. I even saw a piece that said that 90% of those who have signed on love the program.
Sounds like Mr Tomasky needs to change pharmacists..
blame it on Ambien....it works for the Kennedy's.......
I guess, as opposed to Meet the Press's completely Liberal lineup, Larry Kudlow (on now) was booked for equal time.
My pleasure.
Good Morning Sunshine!
Russert's question will be something along the lines of "do the Kennedy's have a family curse leading to heartbreak and loss?"
And I may be wrong but I think Pelosi's statement on investigations willbackfire on her big time. I cringed, just cringed, when I read it. Like same old, same old.
How long can this sort of mutual fight to the death with investigations go on?
Settle the differences at the ballot box.
Hey EC,your guy Herman Cain had another great week!!
I'm listening to him and I feel like my IQ is going up.
Did you hide her shoes again...just to get in some FReep time?
Arrogance defined by McCain -> Examiner editorial.
"I know that money corrupts .... I would rather have a clean government than one where, quote, First Amendment rights are being respected, that has become corrupt. If I had my choice, I'd rather have the clean government." Arrogant politicians like McCain show why Congress desperately needs term limits.
Mark Tapscot (of Heritage Foundation) is the editorial page editor. Examiner will be published in atleast 50 cities & may be more before election 2008.
Hey there!
I am SO bummed that I missed it!
I will have to check out his web site- see if the download is available....
Hid the shoes, dress, and several other esentials.
