Kerry "troubled" by Hayden CIA nomination May 8, 2006 NASHUA, N.H. --Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry says he's troubled and has "serious reservations" about President Bush's nomination of General Michael Hayden to be director of the Central Intelligence Agency. Kerry says his concerns stem from Hayden's involvement in the Bush administration's domestic surveillance program, which Hayden used to oversee as the former head of the National Security Agency. Kerry made the comments to reporters after speaking at a convention of New Hampshire's professional fire fighters association in Nashua. Delaware Sen. Joseph Biden also is scheduled to speak at the convention. Biden said earlier that Hayden's nomination could create the impression that the C-I-A is being consumed by the Defense Department.

Kerry has always been troubled at the mere existence of the CIA.

Well guess what Mr. Kerry, you can't do a dang thing about it. So go put in your VietCong mouthpiece and make your teeth clatter like a wooden puppet!

[[ Kerry "troubled" by Hayden CIA nomination [has "serious reservations" about President Bush's....] ]]

Evidently Hayden is the democrats CHOICE.. When they attack Bush or Bush decisions the republicans rally to make it so/happen.. BRILLIANT actually.. sneaky but brilliant..

You notice the democrats DON'T attack Bush on his border decisions.. Bush being For; IMPORTING multi millions of prospective democrats across that border.. is something the republican base HATES.. The democrats KNOW he will eventually take the blame.. and distance themselves from the backlash which will eventually come.. Because many many democrats HATE IT TOO...

you said,
"Someone get John Kerry a Roget's Thesaurus. Can't he think of a better description for his emotions than "troubled?" With such a wide range of deep feelings and expressions is it no wonder that he won the Presidency? /sarc"

Didn't you read that Kerry is the Great Communicator?

Didn't you see how well he debated?

Well, now that Dubya has admitted he used that Bush impersonator for the debates, Kerry can declare that he's very troubled by that...or at least has deep, deep reservations.

Mr. Kerry has a great deal to be humble about. It is a shame that he does not understand this.

I would love to see Kerry's DD214. I'll be there are some interesting items in it.

Memo to Tony Snow:
Re: "Bush administration's domestic surveillance program"

The 4th Amendment prohibits UNREASONABLE search and seizure.

Tony, Please frame the debate around whether it is reasonable or unreasonable to listen to the phone conversations of terrorists?

That was your predecessor's biggest mistake.

Assuming that General Hayden is going to have a hearing before taking the CIA job, I would just LOVE to see some Republican Senator with the stones to come right out and say...

"General Hayden? Let's revisit some ancient history for a moment, and talk about security clearances. Would you say, that if a former Naval officer who had been discharged under questionable circumstances following their perjured testimony right here on Capitol Hill in which they alleged all sorts of war crimes committed by their fellow servicemen in Vietnam, crimes which were never even proven, and if that same Naval officer had traveled to Paris to engage in private consultations with the Communist North Vietnamese and the Viet Cong, in violation of U.S. law, would you say it would be reasonable to assume that such an individual, who clearly held his fellow American servicemen in such contempt, who gave aid and comfort to America's enemies during a time of war, would it be reasonable to conclude that such an individual could not be trusted with ANY sort of security clearance under any conditions? Indeed General, would it be safe to say that such a disloyal individual should never hold elective office as their past behavior would make them ineligible to serve? The last part of this lengthy question General, is 'would YOU have wanted to have served alongside such an individual, and to depend on them in a life or death situation?', I'd like very much to hear your views on such a hypothetical individual."

ADMIRAL Stansfield Turner,,Now let's see, which Queer lickin RAT APPOINTED HIM CIA HEAD??!!!

For the kids out there who may not be familiar with Admiral Turner, (the head of the CIA when Iran was lost to the radicals), here's a dash of his bio on Wikipedia:

-----------------------------

...He served as president of Naval War College from 1972 to 1974 and was subsequently director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) from 1977 to 1981 (Jimmy Carter's administration). He was a member of the Monsanto board of directors. He is now a senior research scholar at the University of Maryland, College Park's School of Public Policy.

Under Turner's direction, the CIA emphasized TECHINT and SIGINT more than HUMINT. Turner eliminated over 800 operational positions in what was called the Halloween Massacre. This organizational direction is notable because William Casey was seen to have a completely opposite approach, focusing much of his attention on HUMINT. Turner gave notable testimony to Congress revealing much of the extent of the MKULTRA program, which the CIA ran from the early 1950s to late 1960s. Reform and simplification of the intelligence community's multilayered secrecy system was one of Turner's significant initiatives, but produced no results by the time he left office.

One exception to Turner's preference for non-human intelligence gathering involved the use of a psychic. In the January 2006 issue of GQ magazine, former President Jimmy Carter reportedthat Turner hired a psychic to help locate a US plane that had been lost in Central Africa. When Turner's preferred TECHINT and SIGINT approaches both failed to find the missing plane, Turner reported to the president that the agency hired a psychic to help find the plane.

Turner has written several books, including 2005's Burn Before Reading: Presidents, CIA Directors, and Secret Intelligence, in which he advocates disbanding the CIA.

Turner has been sharply critical of the Bush administration handling of the Iraq invasion. In September 2003 he wrote that "most of the assumptions behind our invasion have been proven wrong: The intelligence did not support the imminence of a threat, the Iraqis have not broadly welcomed us as liberators, the idea that we could manage this action almost unilaterally is giving way to pleas for troops and money from other nations, the aversion to giving the UN a meaningful role is eroding daily, and the reluctance to get involved in nation building is being supplanted by just that."...

I believe that Turner was the guy who did Carter's bidding and gutted the clandestine service... no more "human rights violators" at the kinder, gentler, Democrat friendly CIA.

We still haven't been able to repair the damage from that fiasco after 25 years.

"Yes, indeed- John Kerry thinks it's 1971 all over again. Yesterday, on "Face the Nation"
John Kerry once again slams American troops- Check it out-

"And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the-of-the historical customs, religious customs."

Here is the transcript for "Face the Nation"-

http://www.cbsnews.com/htdocs/pdf/face_120405.pdf

You will find this statement at the bottom of page 4 and the top of page 5.

"When former Attorney General Ramsey Clark isn’t defending Saddam Hussein, or giving speeches for the crypto-Stalinist International ANSWER, he’s acting as counsel for the Palestine Liberation Organization, trying to prevent families of murdered Jews from collecting on judgments against the PLO."
Little Green Footballs ^ | November 28, 2005 | Charles Johnson

From Kerry's "The New Soldier":

Al Hubbard Sgt., 22 Troop Carrier Squadron Aug. ’65-June ’66
Emotions: Walking down the flight line at Saigon past stacks of aluminum cases containing American bodies and past stacks of aluminum luggage containing American currency. Seeing the tight, sad face of an Airman loading the bodies aboard a dirty Air Force Transport and the wide smiling face of a stewardess greeting the passengers aboard a clean Pan American Clipper Jet. Hearing a Vietnamese beg you to leave his country and an American colonel tells you to bomb his country. Hearing a Vietnamese invite you to live in his home, after the war and an American explain why you can’t live in his block, after the war. Flying over barren, brown, safe American held terrain and over lush, green unsafe enemy terrain. Feeling happy to be leaving a country in which you do not belong and sad to be returning to a country in which you are not allowed to belong. Sacrificing a portion of your consciousness so you won’t have to deal with being there and building mental blocks so you won’t have to deal with having been there.

- Al Hubbard, proven fraud who never set foot in Viet Nam. The only Vietnamese he ever met was when he was collaborating with the North Vietnamese in Paris on the American Communist Party's nickel.

John Kerry's explanation: "He (Hubbard) simply exaggarated his particular position.
But nobody knew it at the time.
And those things happen."

Troubled means Kerry is getting a furrowed brow which means more of the botox is required.
