Are you suggesting they are honored and pleased she has embraced the homosexual lifestyle?

I'm suggesting that they love their daughter. They don't judge her.

Judging the state of other people's souls are what busybodys do, so the Cheneys let you and your cohorts condemn their daughter to hell.

Which is better? Loving someone or condemning them?

To be truthful (and to put the joking aside) -- I find that those who judge others with particular harshness have indulged in a soul killing vice.

So yeah, we all judge -- but I recognize those judgements as approaching something of a failing. A human weakness.

Homosexuals really hate human life

Self indulgence, as manifested by the above keyboard pounding excrescence, may not be a "sin" (we atheists don't use that term), but it is a character flaw (some of us atheists use that term). You give atheists a bad name. Can't you find some religion to hew too?

This is a very complex issue.

Check this out

This looks like, once again, junk science. Every study, and I do mean every single study on a gay gene or biological factors for homosexuality (behavior) have been debunked.

From the article, somebody who wasn't part of the team said:

The important thing is to be open to the likely situation that there are biological factors that contribute to sexual orientation.
And we have to look at all the evidence, which includes studies on ex-gays. Besides that, we already know biology contributes to sexual orientation. People who understand the issues realize this doesn't mean homosexuality is innate. The issue is what and how little linkage and association really means. But you won't read that from somebody pushing the homosexual agenda.

Also, this study assumes humans respond to pheromones which is far from being decided.

Here are some links for those interested in understanding the bigger picture:

And some people choose to focus on others' sins and do nothing about their own.

People have a right to do that when said person parades their sins publicly and tells everyone that their vile behavior is perfectly fine--and that they'll eventually force you to accept and celebrate it under the law.

When I start doing that with my sins, I give you permission to be upset.

And what defines a marriage -- gubmint recognition or the blessing of clergy?
"Laws are made for the government of actions, and while they cannot interfere with mere religious belief and opinions, they may with practices... "

[Reynolds v. United States, 98 U.S. 145, 8 Otto 145, 24 L. Ed. 244 (1878).]

See also: Late Corporation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints v. United States, 136 U.S. 1, 10 S.Ct. 792, 34 L. Ed. 478 (1890). Revised as 140 U.S. 665, 11 S.Ct. 884, 35 L. Ed. 592 (1891).

No man can become a law unto himself under the guise of freedom in religion...

Marriage is a religious rite, not a civil right. It is a privileged practice that requires a license.

It depends on the specific facts. For certain individuals, I think it does enhance the quality of their lives, because that is who they are. But certain homosexual sexual practices are medically unsafe. And there are huge costs attendant to the life style, for many, as one's virility fades, the hair line recedes, and the lonliness sets in. But the fact is, is that those who are gay, know this very well. That is why I don't think for a majority, it is a choice. It is who they are.

I would suggest that it probably looks like junk science to you because it doesn't agree with your beliefs.

If the brains of gay men and lesbians show differences to straight men and women - that is data. A scientist is interested in data like that.

Others have particular agendas -

What's better, enabling someone's bad behavior, or helping them get over it?

Those who enable the homosexual behavior of others are practicing false compassion no different than buying a six-pack for an alcoholic.

As a society, we should mind our own business. Don't tell me you've got your life perfected to the point where you can tell the rest of us how we ought to live.

It's not whether people have the right to do it. Everyone has the right to sin if they choose to. The point is that it is a sin.

Those who are sinful just add to their own sinfullness by focusing on the sins of others while not doing anything about their own sins.

She's been with the other woman for over a decade -- so, I guess it's a good thing. Like the guy who wrote Fight Club -- he's been with the same guy for like a hundred years.

So, I have to assume there's something there that keeps these people together.

Nobody's asked me to embrace it or not embrace. I don't know any of these people. I can only speculate as to whether they're happy. That said, none of them asked my permission or blessing before they hooked up with their partners.

Somehow I knew you wouldn't answer this question. Instead, you ask me another question so you won't have to face this one.

Do you live your life loving people and affirming them, or finding fault with what they do, and condemning them?

It's a simple question.
