I live near Golden. Nice city and the brewery you meant was probably "Golden City brewery" on 12th street. "The second largest brewery in Golden." (expensive place to buy a house, though.)
I loved Golden when I visited a few years back. I suspected that it would be a pricey place to live! Hey but I live in the NO Va. burbs and Golden CO beats this pricey place to live hands down.
