The liberal press is printing things they know will outrage the base - constantly shoving it in their faces. It's working like a charm. The articles are spun like crazy, but the easily manipulated just keep reading them and gobbling them up.

To the contrary. The mainstream media is full of nonsense about the "plight" of those here illegally, with rare exceptions. You've got a tough assignment defending GWB on immigration when reality keeps intruding.

I was a member of the now-defunct Friends of the Border Patrol. FoTBP shared all of its operational information with the Border Patrol and only with the Border Patrol, thinking they could be trusted. Disinformation was sometimes issued to the press to thwart the aims of potentialy violent protestors, but they always knew where we would be. Now we know why they knew the locations, our government (through the Border Patrol) was giving the information to Mexico who, in turn passed it on to extremist open-borders advocates in the US who showed up to harass our members. Friends of the Border Patrol were just that. We attended briefings given by the Border Patrol during which we were instructed as to how we should conduct ourselves at the border. The guidelines they presented were adhered to assiduously. I was present when members of the Border Patrol visited our HQ at a ranch whose identity is contained in the Spanish-language Mexican reports on "vigilantes," a link to which is supplied in Sarah Carter's article (see May 10,2006 Drudge Report). Denials are now being issued by Department of Homeland "Insecurity"spokespeople but I know first-hand that they are false.

I just read an email from Tom Tancredo. He says it is true that the border patrol has been doing this for some time. The border patrol is not to be trusted, as Bush put a know nothing in as head. Guess there are some Freepers here saying it isn't happing. However, I'll put my money on Tom - and my vote.

The extreme example of militarizing the borders and deporting all illegal aliens in one day is obviously unrealistic. No one is suggesting anything like that. What I am suggesting is that if you were to make a prioritized list of things that should be done to secure our country, securing our borders would be as high or higher than breaking up the Iraqi government. You make it sound as though Bush is "working on" securing the borders and that it will just “take time”. On the contrary, Bush has resisted any progress in securing our borders with his public statements and veto threats and openly criticized civilians who step up to do the job for him. As far as your assumption about my voting tendencies, I have always and will always vote for the candidate who supports the best overall plan for national security which involves securing our borders AND fighting our enemies where they sleep. A president who focused on closing the borders and did nothing overseas (isolationism) would be no better than what we have now.
