A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day....05-10-06....Warm Fuzzy Wednesday

A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

On this Warm and Fuzzy Wednesday, we can also celebrate Golden Spike Day.
More about the history of the golden spike and the transcontinental railroad can be found here.
Also, today is Blood Pressure Day, School Nurse Day, and Clean Up Your Room Day.
It's almost my bedtime. Good night!

Warm Fuzzies For The Ladies!
My New Big Friend

After I was sick and on the mend
That's when I met my New Big Friend
Though we didn't hit it off flawlessly right away
I'm getting used to Titus and his odd canine ways
Titus loves to play, but not too rough
He knows that I'm just a weightless ball of fluff
I had to tell him Face-To-Face and way up close
With something less than a gentle swipe across his nose
He's also discovered that though I'm kind of round, I'm not a ball
Though he enjoys nuzzling and pushing me down the hall
And when we go outside, as a Protector, Titus is the BEST!
Just ask the three very scared Tomcats that Titus thought were pests
As the Sun goes down and the sky turns dark
Titus will lay down and be my Kitten~Nap Park
With lots of soft, warm places I can curl up, stretch out or just tuck in
Though my Favorite Place is between his front paws and chin!

The Greatness Of Godliness
LISTEN TO ODB RADIO: Real | MP3 | WMA
|
READ:
Genesis 47:7-12Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and went out from before Pharaoh. Genesis 47:10
In the eyes of most people, Jacobs brother Esau was the greater man of the two. Through the years he had accumulated immense wealth and power. He was the ruler of the land of Edom and could have met Pharaoh on his own terms. Yet Esau, with all his earthly authority, could not have blessed Pharaoh. Only Jacob had that power (Genesis 47:10).
The spiritual is greater than the natural. God can endow a humble human being with awesome moral force. Holiness has within itself the power to master all other powers.
The Greek word for power or authority (exousia) contains the preposition ex, which means out of or from. This suggests that the ability to influence others flows from inside. It is rooted in what we are. Do you wish to be great? Augustine asked. Then begin by being. Greatness comes from holiness and nothing more.
I have a friend who makes his way through the halls of power in Washington, DC, meeting with the most prominent women and men in the world. He speaks a word or two, prays, and then walks on, but he leaves behind the lingering and compelling influence of Christ. He has the aura of greatness that surrounds all whose lives reflect the character of Jesus. It is the greatness of godliness. David H. Roper
I want my heart His throne to be,
So that a watching world may see
His likeness shining forth in me;
I want to be like Jesus. Chisholm
Even a little example can have a big influence for Christ.

Horses
Just up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it. From a distance, each looks like every other horse. But if you stop your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite amazing. Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him. This alone is amazing.
If nearby and listening, you will hear the sound of a bell. Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field. Attached to her halter is a small bell. It lets her blind friend know where she is, so he can follow her.
As you stand and watch these two friends, you'll see how she is always checking on him, and that he will listen for her bell and then slowly walk to where she, trusts that she will not lead him astray. When she returns to the shelter of the barn each evening, she stops occasionally and looks back, making sure her friend isn?t too far behind to hear the bell.
Like the owners of these two horses, God does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges. He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need.
Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by the little ringing bell of those who God places in our lives. Other times we are the guide horse, helping others see.
Good friends are like this..........You don't always see them, but you know they are always there. Please listen for my bell and I'll remember to listen for yours!

The few times I have had liquid spills on keyboard, it has been successful for me just to unplug, rinse under water, shake off excessive liquid & dry thoroughly before replugging. I have done that maybe a dozen times w/various keyboards. NEVER had one that was ruined from this.
A friend of mine does his frequently with high intensity spray from shower massage.. His is full of food !
Need to go mow (about a 3 hour project,) do hospital runs, & then TACKLE THE PROBLEMS OF THE HOUSEHOLD!

mowing breeak. LOTSA fun doing an acre with an electric mower! (no, self propelled)
Funny story about one keyboard of my friends a few years ago. She always ate & drank & dumped & spilled things onto her keyboard & never cleaned. Maybe turned upside down & shook now & then.
She was shocked on day to see a column of ants.. making their way to /from her keyboard to get supplies for the "nest"..
It was very sticky as she spilled things like soup, margaritas etc.

You pick out such gorgeous shots and present the photos so beautifully. :) I get so many screen savers from your photos. ;)
I had a feeder out for three seasons, until I finally had a regular this past year. Then another showed up shortly after. It was funny watching him guard that feeder. I couldn't believe I had 2 fighting over it with all those years of no Hummers. LOL
