Thanks to your support Lynn Swann filed an impressive $1.3 million for this fundraising filing period - a sizable increase that matches incumbent Ed Rendell's filing for the period. Over the last 30 days, we also significantly expanded our donor base with more than 6,000 new donors.
The broad grassroots support throughout the state and elected Republican party leaders here and around the nation believe that Lynn Swann can win in November.
We fully expect to be out-raised by Ed Rendell, the former Democratic Party's Fundraiser in Chief. Our ultimate goal is simple: to raise the necessary resources and strategically leverage our fundraising support to mount the most aggressive campaign possible - and we're on pace to do exactly that.
Unfortunately for millions of Pennsylvania's homeowners, this week also marked another failure to reform our property tax system - failure that has eluded both sides of the political aisle for almost 30 years.
The first sentence of today's Patriot-News story says it all: "Gov. Ed Rendell has once again failed to deliver on his biggest campaign promise: property tax relief." (Tax-relief mess puts Rendell in bind - May 5, 2006)
Ed Rendell four years ago promised to cut property taxes by 30 percent for every homeowner. And he has failed to deliver on that promise for Pennsylvanians.
Rendell defends his failure by saying that "The voters didn't elect me king," and that he "can only propose things." After 22 years of "experience," excuses and broken promises are the best that Ed Rendell can do for Pennsylvania.
Lynn Swann is committed to enacting real reforms - not election year band-aids that do nothing in the long run and short-change almost six million homeowners for political gain.
Lynn Swann's plan for property tax reform includes:

Swanny bump!
if we boot Fast Eddie in November he will still have time to make the casting call for the next season of The Sopranos
What did Swann do find a cure for foot in mouth disease?
*BUMP*
Rendell kept one promise to his cronies. Once in office the USAir hub magically was moved to Philladelphia.
I've yet to see a single piece of advertising for Swann, in print, radio or TV.
What happened with the Pittsburgh airport?
Last time I was there, it looked like a ghost town. A very expensive, shiny (but visibly decaying) ghost town.
But come to think of it, it looked like that the first time I was there (about five or so years ago), too.
There seem to be about six tax bills for our Washington County home. I think it was school tax, state tax, township tax and a few other random taxes. Anyone have a breakdown of how this works? In the end, it looks like Washington County taxes aren't any lower than Allegheny, which I have to say I did not expect :-(.

What is the current polling data - Swann leading?
ping
But Rendell is already running TV ads in PHILLY. Does that sound like a confident frontrunner to you?
You Betcha. Swann's gonna kick Fast Eddie's *ss
The majority here fly out of Baltimore.
Get this, it is in place to put a railroad stop from Harrisburg and Lancaster to this Airport that does nothing.
Well, at least it keeps the airline in the state, and liberates it of the excessive fees.
So I don't know if that's such a bad deal, from what you're saying.
You can surely have the best-looking airport in the world, but that's not going to help anyone if it prices its way out of the market.
