I've just come back from a week in Australia, and have been pouring over my regular sources of 'What's going on in the world', and came across the article entitled: Mayor, Officials Swept Out of Office for Their Support of Illegal Aliens, by Jim Kouri, CPP.

I thought it very interesting, but it was not until I read a joke that arrived in an email, that I saw another 'moral of the story'.

The Joke:

The Lone Ranger and Tonto went camping in the desert. After they got their tent all set up, both men fell sound asleep. Some hours later, Tonto wakes the Lone Ranger and says,

"Kemo Sabe, look towards sky, what you see?"

The Lone Ranger replies, "I see millions of stars."

"What that tell you?" asked Tonto.

The Lone Ranger ponders for a minute then says,
Astronomically speaking, it tells me there are millions
of galaxies and potentially billions of planets.
Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo.
Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter
past three in the morning.
Theologically, the Lord is all-powerful and we are small and insignificant.
Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow.

What's it tell you, Tonto?"

"You dumber than buffalo pats. Someone stole tent."

Sorta like 'You can't see the forest for the trees, isn't it? Sometimes it takes a joke to make us see the truth in life. For the Academic point of this joke, we can see that politically correct propaganda can backfire.

Sometimes we are so caught up in intellectual BS that we really don't see the most relevant realities.

If you would like to see some more relevant but otherwise unnoticed realities, take the time to look at the following articles.

Anti-American Graffiti, by Mary Grabar (The graffiti, "Bush=Nazi," is sprayed on buildings -Slovenia-Prague)
The Psychology of Victimhood,("white guilt") by Dr. Helen Smith
My thanks to W.B Fankboner for directing me to this article: Cults of Ignorance. - "Getting It Wrong from the Beginning: Our Progressivist Inheritance (educational "Progressivism" and Naturalism ). from Herbert Spencer, John Dewey, and Jean Piaget" - book review National Review, May 5, 2003 by M. Mayor, Officials Swept Out of Office for Their Support of Illegal Aliens..In a nutshell: "Monday was billed as 'a day without an immigrant.' For supporters of illegal aliens in Herndon, VA., Mayor Michael O'Reilly and nearly every member of the town council who voted to use public funds to construct and operate the illegal alien laborers hiring center ; Tuesday turned out to be 'a day without a political career.
