IMO. Border enforcement should be priority. Forget about amnesty. I want to see the border enforcement before anything else is talked about.
They will probably pass a bill that will allow amnesty with very tough border enforcement measures but, have no intention of making border enforcement a reality. 20 million will be amnestied and our border will still be wide open.

We can't let it happen. If the House can block amnesty for two more years, maybe we can get a pro-enforcement Pubbie through the Presidential primary. Maybe a governor. Hell, Newt can overcome his baggage if he takes this issue and runs with it--people would forgive his philandering if they are convinced he will control the border AND send the illegals back home.

If we get an establishment candidate in '08 who does not convince us that he will act on the border, then there will be trouble in the GOP. Til then, we need to put some shackles on George.

Yes that is how our government works now, reward the criminals with amnesty and punish the american taxpayers by making them pay for it.

The agreement brokered by Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R(which stands for RINO)-Tenn., and Minority Harry Reid, D-Nev., breaks a political stalemate that has lingered for weeks while immigrants and their supporters held rallies, boycotts and protests to push for action.

I was going to make the comment that Frist was a lily-livered, spineless, ba!!less puke but didn't think that was descriptive enough so I won't say it.

Not a rhetoorical question - Can't these senators read? Every poll that I've seen shows minimum of 70 percent of those polled wanting NO AMNESTY, nada, nil, zilch. I have no problem with a guest worker program that doesn't come with free head-of-the-line citizenship. Why do the repub senators want to sell out America??? Anyone understand them?

I get so angry about this because Bush is pissing away the efforts of millions of conservatives over many years,It's not just pres Bush. He doesn't have a vote in the senate. The gop controlled senate has sold us down the river on numerous issues and is now selling out our sovereignty.

*BINGO* You nailed it. I guess Bush has impeachment on his wish list . . .

80% of American Oppose Border Jumpers. By voting to support border jumpers, Congress will be voting against established law. Our national security and national identity is at stake. So I say, "Throw them all out of office!" Advocating that Congress ignore established laws and the wishes of Americans is grounds for impreachment.

I know everyone knows this already but it's a form of anger therapy to put it out there anyway. Apparently the immigration law that's been on the books for years isn't what they (CFR) want. It would work if those in DC wanted it to work. This new BIPARDISIN immigration reform is nothing but political posturing (CRAP) to make it appear like they are doing something about the problem. Hell, the politicians are obviously the problem and they have been for years. This country would be much better off to have no one in DC than this bunch.

Sheesh! Congress wants to give 12 to 15 million (or more?) Mexican citizens the right to vote in our elections.

Congress, are you listening? NO citizenship for illegal entrants! No! No! No!

I am with you. Any candidate that arises from the ashes that promises to secure the borders would win in a landslide. Hopefully the House will stand strong against Shamnesty.

Bush, Frist, and the rest of the Republican posers care only about the needs of the Fortune 500. They couldn't care less if illegal immigration eventually gives the Democratic Party a permanent majority and makes white men slaves. Bush and company will be in the sunset of their lives by then. They couldn't care less about America's future; hell, they think nations themselves are outdated barriers to prosperity. For Bush and his friends, all that matters is the Almighty Dollar.

Its absolutely insane to talk about amnesty when we don't control the border.

First, let's stop the leak, then we can talk about how to bail the water out of the boat.

Sheesh! Congress wants to give 12 to 15 million (or more?) Mexican citizens the right to vote in our elections.

It is disgusting and an insult to all citizens, natural-born and naturalized. We also need to deprive of citizenship all citizens who retain or acquire a second nationality, unless explicitly approved or acknowledged by our authorities.
