Since $0.90 out of the $3.90 price is tax, they call it a 23% tax. But you have to add 30% to the selling price to get the FairTax price.

I don't know why this is special to you. The same could be said about the income tax.

Beyond that, why is this anywhere near as important as making sure illegals pay their share - or making US manufacturers more competitive in the world market?

I was jsut explaining where the 23% and 30% came from since the poster had done the calculation icorrectly. I made no negative remarks about the use of the inclusive rate, i just stated the facts.

You're quite wrong about that too, xcamial, there are many on these threads and elsewhere who realize what the FairTax is and the many benefits it brings to most taxpayers and the economy of the US. It has been studied, analyzed and probed and prodded and the answer is always the same - it has great benefits. And that comes from those with far more of a brain than the thing shared by you Squirrels.

And most of you do love the Status Quo or you wouldn't fight and struggle and put forth so much misinformation about it so continually for so long if you weren't panicked by realizing that it's probably going to pass.
