I read the transcript of the May 5 hearing; there's no mention of Cheney in this context.

The new filings from Fitzy were on the 12th of May; here are links, the second link is to the exhibits; exhibit one is the nytimes article with Libby's annotations. It is beyond pathetic that Fitzy thinks this shows an attempt to get Plame; when we all know Wilson was a lieing SOB and the WH was trying to get the truth out. Fitzy is criminalizing politics here; and it is beyond the pale:

Something is a stirring about this Plame crap. I have been reading alot of blogs today and the word around the internet world is Rove has been indicted. The next man they will go after is Cheney, and so on and so on. I hope the rumors of the day are just that. Ironic the "book" has been picked up by a publisher this week. It seems so obvious, but if you hate so much its just tunnel vision.

Instead, Fitzgerald asserts, "the evidence about the conversation concerning the Novak column provides a strong motive for the defendant to provide false information and testimony about his disclosures to reporters."

Sounds like the case against Martha Stewart which was basically, "We know you are guilty so when you say you aren't you are committing perjury." Sooner or later, probably after the '08 election, this case by Fitzgerald will come unraveled.

If the Democrats take back the House in '06 they will use things like this to pull off their coup. Impeach Cheney and Bush and strap the Republicans with the Culture of Corruption label to win it all.

In summary, Fitzie is completely sure that the reporters are truthtellers and Libby is a liar.

And that the prevailing lies and questionable premise of the "junket" by SlimeyJoe framing the whole issue were NOT important enough to be set straight by the administration ...indeed, they would've been shirking their responsibilities had they NOT presented their position to the public ... unbelievable. And all cooked up by the spooks at the CIA who had a vendetta.

Ken Starr? You mean the guy who could only find the Lewinsky matter to charge Clinton with? China, Whitewater, FBI records, fundraising...and that's what he came up with? No thanks.

Don't spout off until you know what you are talking about. (Of course, I exempt myself from this rule.) Ken Starr's mandate was to bring charges on any impeachable offense he found. He had much more in the works, like the campaign contributions from China and others, but he had hard evidence of lying under oath in the Paula Jones case so he had to present it.

That is where everything stopped and the press turned it into "all about sex" instead of all about lying under oath, with James Carville calling Ken Starr a sex maniac, even though there was much more evidence Starr had gathered of other things in the evidence room for the impeachment investigators if they cared to look.

Few cared to but instead tried to get Clnton off the hook with it as only about sex, it is his personal life, everybody does it, yada yada yada..

No question that Fitz has a great gig at probably $500 per hour, and he has already extended his 15 minutes of fame to 20 minutes.

At his billing rates, he's looking through the Aspen housing catalogs, to see if he can extend his moments of fame to 30 minutes, so he can buy one of those properties!

Nothing more, he doesn't give a sh!t about the outcome, just how long can I cash out on this sucker!

Thanks -- as soon as I posted that comment, I realized this referred to "an article that was sort of annotated" that Fitzgerald mentioned on May 5.

Kind of scarey isn't it starwise? What happened here, from start to finish, including good old Fitzy, is a pack of lies from Democrats and their mouthpieces in old media, to undermine a war time president. CIA leaked it to start, and CIA wanted an investigation of the leaker....I'm very frustrated, but I do have faith that truth will out eventually. I'm also extremely disappointed in the judge, who is allowing this fiasco to continue. Furthermore, I'm hoping that Tony Snow doesn't keep with the Scotty line: "can't talk about it"....I hope Snow starts talking about the proven liar Wilson, and starts putting a WH PR front out on this ridiculous story. Some saving grace here is that very few people have any real interest in this story. Although I'm angry with Spectre who now wants to investigate the WH on the NSA story, instead of calling for an investigation of the leakers. It is one reason I have refused to give the party a penny this year.

"China, Whitewater, FBI records, fundraising"

You forgot about Clinton overdosing on cocaine and falling into the trash can.

Their constant speculation is becoming quite tedious. Last week Matthews was convinced Rove would be indicted and I suspect his source may be his old friend who penned this article.

My GOD what kind of coutry are we coming to when the Vice President of the nation can ASK if a CIA agent sent her husband on a foreign service mission?!?!?!?!?

Especially considering that the person doing the asking happens to be the person the Wilsons dishonestly claimed had been the one to send Joe Wilson.

Ken Starr had no intention of nailing clinton on anything. He even tried to excape to Pepperdine. When Tripp showed up with the tapes, he had no choice.

she wasn't covert. This should never have been referred. Now that it has, we have an obstruction case going on. The whole case is ludicrous. Fitzy STILL cannot establish motive.

I really do not see what the deal is here why should the VP not ask the question and why would Libby think he had to lie to protect his boss.

To me this does not make sense or am I missing something?

Of course he is trying to prove motive by including this note.

Fitzy is doing far worse than "grasping at straws"; he's peeing into the wind.
