Long before Anderson pulled up to Swedish Medical Center, her film-school boyfriend was gone.

"She chose poorly."

Isn't that the truth... It's sad and make conservatives look like what the left says we are.

Sadly, I think about 20% of us *are* what the left says we are.

"That's the way it is in FR." -- Yup, some FRpers would not allow any opinions if they would hurt other people's feelings. The great thing is, we DO have opinions. Tough.

Another internet John Wayne. Whatever. Maybe when you grow up you'll learn it's wrong to smear everyone with the same brush, including the "whore" single mothers, as they were called earlier on this thread. Classy stuff.

Looks like you've been banned.

With a nasty post like that, it's no wonder.

Nastiness is increasingly becoming the order of the day at FR. I find that I have an increasingly lower and lower opinion of this place. It's reaching DU levels.

I can never understand unplanned pregnancies. A simple 99 cent condom could have prevented it.

That's the old band-aid on the open sore argument. Wearing a condom, which can break, be defective, not be worn properly, or simply be forgotten in the heat of the moment, is not the solution. The solution is a healthy, moral attitude about sex. In other words, abstinenece or at least some self control. On a more macro level, it's society's increasing sexualization and "Just do it" attitude that also is not helping.

"Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin."

I agree with 95% of what you're saying. The idiots and anonymous tough guys calling people whores and what not are definitely not helping. And yes, Jesus preached compassion when dealing with our brother's or sister's sin, but just so no one misinterprets what you're saying, the key part of that sentence is that Jesus taught us to leave our life of sin.

I'm sure you know that, but I do see that quote tossed around a lot by libs who say that Jesus hung only with sinners (implicitly saying Jesus didn't actually care about healing us of are sinful nature; He just loved everybody like a good hippie dude.)

Then if its something you will NEVER understand, maybe you shouldnt be so quick to comment about it.

The voice of christianity has become awfully judgemental and self-righteous of late. I wonder whatever happened to "judge not lest ye be judged "?

Well my friend, don't use that to indict all Christians. At the same time, don't think that even the charitable Christians aren't afraid to call single parenthood damaging and at best immoral, and sex before marriage to be an absolute mortal sin.

How 'bout we just meet in between?

I'd also like to add that anyone here who's ever had premarital sex, protection or no protection, should really shut their mouths when it comes to degrading single mothers as "whores" or anything similar. It kinda reeks of hypocrisy.

That's what happens when you spread for a loser.

THat's a very classy statement. Do you talk to and about all the girls that way? Do they spread for you?

"There used to be a name for girls who couldn't keep their knees together."

And for men who couldn't keep their zipper zipped.

A hard truth that some seem to want to ignore.

"If you believe in Good and Evil, then you will, by nature, BE judgmental, because you will have a clear line of demarkation to JUDGE things by. It is not forbidden, you know, just not PC."

Don't kid yourself. The point is, there are NO clear lines of demarcation to judge others by. That's why we are admonished not to do it.

You summed it up very nicely! Sin is sin, so let's not embrace what she did and call it a mistake. Bringing a child into the world should a serious matter, not just a product of playing Russian Roulette. The sad part is, the innocent baby is the one to suffer the consequences (whether by abortion, fatherlessness, povery).....and it DIDN'T have the choice. That's what makes me angry. Let's face it. Children stand a better chance with a mother. It's selfish and foolish to deny them that chance.

I know I'm far from perfection! I'm sorry if I seem harsh, but I take parenting seriously. It's a hard job for anyone - married or unmarried. I also know there are some amazing single moms out there who raise wonderful children. Unfortunately that's NOT the norm. No one can convince me that single parenting is the ideal way to raise a child. And if people would sit down and put as much thought into having a child as they do buying a house or a car and what being a parent entails, there may be a lot less children brought up in poverty and abuse....and I'm all for that! What on this earth is more precious than a life? Don't you think a decision like this should be given some heartfelt thought? I do. In the meantime, I say keep those legs CLOSED!

You had better check southeastern KY, eastern TN, and east TX.

You know you're in one of those places when you have dinner with a family, and the dad let's his 13 year old daughter smoke at the table.....in front of her kids.
