“Now you can’t trust him,” she went on bitterly in her first interview with any foreign media. “He is imposing a fascist dictatorship. A totalitarian regime is coming because he doesn’t believe in democratic institutions...

...and besides, he nailed that skank Cindy Sheehan. Oh, and he has a little weenie."

There is a growing sense across the continent that Chavez has become a dangerous irritant, and an obstacle to Latin American development.

At last, there is a sign of at least a little bit of sanity in South America. Chavez is nothing more than a commie, Castro-clone, tyrant that the media is determined to make into a folk hero.

Chavez is the next Mussolini and his end will be the same. His own people urinating on his dead body in a town square.

And that is my "happy thought" for the day :-)

It took Mugabe decades to destroy Zimbabwe, with Venezuela's oil wealth, Chavez can hang on for decades and let his country slide into a Socialist failure. First, FDI will dry up. The government is already confiscating land, soon people will start leaving (the people with brains and some money), then the health care and food programs will dry up (Read Cuban History since Fidel). It is sad what these nuts can do to a country.

Chavez is nothing more than a commie

I think he's just a punk dictator and would use whatever ideology suits his ends. It's all about him. Kinda like that guy from Arkansas a while ago . . .

“He’s the kind of man that showers you with flowers and chocolates, serenades you with romantic songs and never forgets your birthday. People say he is a violent man, but he never raised a hand or his voice to me.”

Yes, and since Adolf never slapped Eva around, he must have been misunderstood, too.

Here is good old Herma Herself. Chances are that she will outlive Chavez by many years. Many of the upper class of Venezuela cannot stand Chavez. They are sending their children to America for schooling. Soon Chavez will try to confiscate the upper classes property to disempower the opposition they represent. This is the pattern of dictators such as Chavez.

Once Chavez's plan gets out, Chavez is a walking dead man. No way the upper classes of Venezuela will let another Cuba happen in their own country.

It will be called Herma's revenge!

If Herma Marksman wanted to save Chavez from a violent end, she could describe exactly what he looks like naked and how he performs in bed. Even if she exploded like a volcano many times to have TOO many details revealed might undo Chavez's huge ego.

Likewise, if Herma had other ex-Chavez lovers testify, Chavez's machismo pride would be shattered and his image dwarfed among the real Hispanic men who are Jesus loving and family oriented and shun the lying playboy, cheating husband, and gangster violence lover.

So, why did Herma Marksman not marry Chavez if he proposed to her? Is it un-sexy of a man to run out on his wife? Power, wealth, a military uniform is just not enough, huh?

Maybe with enough gentle humiliation (gentle, as in non-vegitable throwing), Chavez might run and hide to the protection of his original wife in a secluded retirement in an undisclosed location. Yes, he'd still be rich, but Venezuela would be free and so would 10s of millions of people (and maybe more) who are affected by his thuggish ways (screwing around with oil prices).

Uganda is a better nation without Edi Amin and it didn't take a bullet to his head to have it done. Let Chavez retire to Havana.

"Once Chavez's plan gets out, Chavez is a walking dead man. No way the upper classes of Venezuela will let another Cuba happen in their own country."

I'd thought that Chavez's "plan" has been evident for years and that the people who wimped out in the coup against him blew the last best chance to do anything about him. I don't see how he will be vulnerable again, short of an all-out US intervention, and that would not be any 1-week Panama do-over........
