Thanks. You're making a great point, too. And it goes to show you how far we've fallen. As much as I'm no fan of the Kennedy's, including JFK, he DID show leadership on the space race and other things. It's a sad day when the head of the Republican party in the White House looks so weak compared to any Kennedy.

And will President Bush sign that? Hmm. I wonder. We sure need that fence.

I thought the wall/fencing around San Diego was working quite well?
Anyway, we shall see what happens.

Has been tunneled under many times, and the last one, no one knows for how long and how many used it, you need to look at a map of southern California, to see how much of a joke the San Diego wall is.

i heard Sessions on Mark Levin last night say that they changed the language that would have allowed 100-200m legals.

It went from something like "300,000 a year which increases 20% if the current cap is met" was changed to "200,000 a year, period. No increase".

Sessions said it live on the air.

I just heard Kennedy hates it and he's screaming his head off. That's a good sign.

370 miles doesnt even cover half the border with Texas alone. What kind of sop is this?

It doesn't cover even a quarter of the Texas / mexico border. 1,240 miles (give or take...)

It is the pandering, photo-op kind, unfortunatly.

Whodda thunk that Pat Buchanan was right in '96 when running for prez? Pat advocated that a fence should be built on the southern border to stop the illegals from crossing over, but was laughed at by the critics of the day. Now a mere 10 years later and the fence is going to be built.

Requires DHS to construct at least 370 miles of triple-layered fencing (which may include portions already constructed in San Diego, Tucson and Yuma Sectors) and 500 miles of vehicle barriers in other areas along the southwest border that DHS determines are areas that are most often used by smugglers and illegal aliens attempting to gain illegal entry, and requires that construction thereof be completed within two years.

Just as I suspected. It's just going to shift them from CA and AZ to NM and TX. WE don't want them in our states either. It amazes me when they pass a "feel good" kind of legislation or amendment through and they think it's going to suffice. Then the "esteemed Senators" congratulate the "honorable senators" on what a fine piece of legislation they just passed. IMBICLES!!! IT'S NOT ENOUGH!!!!DO THE ENTIRE BORDER!!!!

They insult our intelligence when they think we're going to fall for it. Do they really believe that we won't care as long as they don't come in through CA or AZ? Good Lord, it REALLY doesn't matter how they are coming in. IT'S THE FACT THAT THEY'RE COMING IN!!

I heard they backed off that number. Now it's allegedly something like 10 million. Sounds suspicious to me, though.

If the illegals are smart and I'm guessing they are... they won't pass where the fence is at.

Thanks.

So they are going to repair existing fences and extend those extisting fences in urban areas by two miles and also build the 370 miles of extra fencing and have it all done within two years.

You're misquoting the MSNBC article. That is a quote from Rep. King, not Rove. Go back and re-read it.

She would be an idiot not to. She follows the political winds and can always backtrack later when someone throws it in her face.

She will vote for the wall but at some point, she will vote against it.

Exactly, nothing but a complete fence with guards every 150 yards or so is truly going to dissuade these invaders from coming in.
