You are absolutely correct. Using this as a "close the borders and we won't have any of these problems." is silly. There are better reasons we need to do that.
Anyone that flies anywhere knows that rapid spread of disease is a huge issue.
ROFL.
How does that relate as a percentage of the incoming population?
Cindy, do you know if a pathogen has been isolated yet, perhaps something in a fungal family?
I don't know, but I (a wife, mother, housewife, non-scholar, non-expert) I do believe that this will turn out to be a real disease.
I like to follow these 2 links for updates:

I don't know if that's true a boy in LA came down with this and soon after his Mom did....worms are involved with this strange problem. This is info I found about the Morgellon worms..they can be killed with salt tablets and vitamin C...
I'm convinced it is a disease, I just have trouble believing that researchers haven't found a pathogen for it. Fungi, if memory serves, have life cycles that can manifest very different structure at different stages ... the athlete's foot we walk around with has a much larger and completely different appearance in another stage of its life cycle.
OPINION: I like the way you are thinking out of the box. I do believe it is something that our modern medications/doseages at this time are unable
to completely wipe iout.
The more documentation of cases; the more information will be gleaned.
There is a Morgellons website, and perhaps it's called "Morgellons.org" or maybe it's called "Morgellons Foundation," or something I can't remember right now.
It is a horrible disease!
I have read of several cases of it appearing in border towns.
