A federal grand jury in Denver has indicted four people on eight counts of arson for a series of eco-terrorism fires set at the Vail ski area in 1998.
Those indicted are: Chelsea Dawn Gerlach, 29, Stanislas Gregory Meyerhoff, 28, Josephine Sunshine Overaker, 31, and Rebecca Jeanette Rubin, 33.
Gerlach and Meyerhoff are presently in federal custody in Oregon, facing separate arson charges. The whereabouts of Overaker and Rubin are unknown.
The Two Elks Lodge and other structures on Vail Mountain were burned to the ground on Oct. 19, 1998. Damage was estimated at $12 million.
A group called the Earth Liberation Front, or ELF, claimed responsibility for the fires and said it was done to protect the habit of the lynx.
The FBI describes the group as one of the nation's leading domestic terrorist organizations.
"Thanks to the hard work of the FBI, ATF, and other law enforcement officers, those alleged to be responsible for the arson fires at Vail will now face justice for their actions.
We are a nation of laws and we are fortunate to live in a free society.
No matter how strongly we feel about any issue or cause, there are peaceful ways to express our views.
We simply cannot capitulate to the use of violence as a means of political discourse."

Dr. Jerry Vlasak is a physician with an odd interpretation of the Hippocratic Oath’s dictum that doctors should “do no harm.”
As a representative of the misnamed Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), Vlasak told the “Animal Rights 2003” convention that he would endorse the murder of physicians whose research work requires the use of lab rats and other animals.
“I don’t think you’d have to kill -- assassinate -- too many vivisectors,” Vlasak said, “before you would see a marked decrease in the amount of vivisection going on.
When one woman in the audience disagreed, saying that Vlasak’s approach was no different from that of abortion-clinic bombers, Vlasak was undeterred.
“Absolutely,” he countered. “I think they had a great strategy going.”

I would like to condemn the guy, but I feel that way about spammers and hackers...
These four plus others that have been arrested over the last four to six months are facing sentences of twenty years to life if convicted.
The Feds are keeping the evidence they have close to the vest and it's likely they have one or more that are cooperating for lighter sentences. These people are in a world of hurt as they well should be.
Well,at least until the next "progressive","environmentalist" President.

Thanks. This reminds me too, Mayor Bostick of Ft. Lupton got a cameo on FOX & Friends this morning. Even though ED Hill was trying to feel somewhat sorry for him, Steve, Bryan and the reporterette, along with ED, were all critical of him and said they could NOT understand why he didn't pay the maoney back in the first place.
I may see the District Captain for that area tomorrow in Colorado Springs and I hope he has more information on Bostick.

They had a GREAT article about Dr. Vislack in the NRA's FReedom First a few months ago. Something about one of these nuts appearing in that magazine made me feel all warm and fuzzy!
Okay. I had forgotten about it somewhat until this was on this morning. According to the FOX report, it started out being under $1000 but grew due to the lawyer and court fees. Just amazing. I'm also anticipating a change in mayors in Ft. Lupton next year, IF Bostick can even withstand the pressures between now and then.
Aint he kind of purty.
Bet he ends up hating humanity even more than he does now....
