Churchill was never a true scholar in the first place. His "scholarship" consisted of long diatribes on his political opinions. No real research was conducted. No objective search for truth or facts was untertaken.

Churchill represents the worst, the ugliest side of the Academy. But it's the Academy's own fault. They invited those people in, sometimes soley to thumb their noses at the establishment. Colorado Univesity should be especially ashamed. They rushed to hire this man, despite the lack of a PhD, despite the flimsy academic background, despite the disgusting political positions he took...and they did it for PC reasons, because they were in a hurry to get a "star minority scholar". CU is reaping what they've sowed now.

I remember that some California mill, like Berkeley, wanting this POS.

So the CU department heads violated all of their own rules to get Ward.
