Blackfive already has a good start on this and Protein Wisdom is all over it as well, but any help Freepers can give in outing this wannabe would be much appreciated.
What a complete goober. No way is this guy a Ranger.
Plus, Fallujah was done by Marines, not Rangers, right?
Yes, the April, 2004 operation in Fallujah was the Marines, not the Army.
Last time I saw a beret that goofy looking, the wearer was trying to get me to buy cookies.
Good. A Lefty on another board I'm on had posted a link to the interview vid. I immediately asked for dates and units, and names of officers/NCOs who had told him to do this stuff. I got nada in response.
I predict this guy will make Al Hubbard look truthful.
I'm sure that somebody that really is a Ranger is checking out the personnel rosters of Ranger units. He's not a Ranger, or SF, or anything else except a sorry little punk.
I'll bet the beret in question was green.
Shudder-that's using a sledgehammer to kill a dung beetle...I'll do it.
LOL... stupid is... as stupid does.
ping to look at when not working (or pretending to work).
I wanted a pony for Fitzmas but I got something better - William Rivers Pitt's head on a plate...

Yeah, a buddy of mine flew one of the C-17s for that. I have a great pic of many of the C-17s lined up on the runway in Italy, getting ready to go. You can see about 15 aircraft in the frame. It's a "C-17s to infinity" type shot.

Ping, in case no one has done so yet.
I don't have a thread at DU for you, but I know it's there.
FOB Bernstein near Tuz Khurmatu-where I spent almost a year-was named for a 173rd solider killed in action.
BTW, his first ribbon is the Bronze Star. With a Purple Heart next to it. What gets me is there is no "V" on the BS. I seriously doubt he would have, if he did, earned a BS in anything other than combat, which would make him eligible for the "V"!

Some poster had a thread about this, and he sounded hopeful somewhat that the guy is legit it seems:

Just dug this gem out of the DUmp:
"The date he gives for being with 3rd Battalion in Falujah is the date that 3rd Ranger Battalion was back in Ft. Benning getting awarded a campaign streamer for their Battalion Guidon."
The DUmmie says he is 3rd Ranger Batt so he oughta know.
See the replied-to post for DUmmie threads.
He's just the latest version of a "Winter Soldier", claiming to have committed attrocities when he was never in the military, or was actually a cook serving in another theater.
He's probably a recent convert to islam, who may have been in the Army, and may actually have served in Iraq, and is now shilling for the enemy.
I also doubt he'd be able to make through Ranger, or any SF school, with that stutter (unable to communicate clearly).
It's the same direction you generally see the Iraqi insurgents toss the end of the towel around their head/face, so as to not interfere with a rifle or RPG launcher held up to their right cheek.
A beret or ski mask offers no such challenge. But old habits die hard.
BTW: the French Foreign Legion and the Vietnamese Rangers, Special Forces/BDQ, and american advisors and straphangers thereof did indeed wear their beanies *pulled left*.

I notice he did not put his picture on his Military.com profile. I wonder if he ripped off somebodies name and bio who really was in the 75th.
Fallujah was a joint Army / Marine endeavor. It's just that the Marines got all the press and credit. I know because my daughter, as part of the 1st Cav Div., was there. Lots of sleepless nights for dad.
Wrong. Marines just got all the credit. Half that battle belonged to the 1st Cavalry Div. Kinda pissed me off at the time, considering my daughter was taking part in that action.
BTTT and bookbark
Wrong. Marines just got all the credit. Half that battle belonged to the 1st Cavalry Div. Kinda pissed me off at the time, considering my daughter was taking part in that action.Sorry. I'll defer to your firsthand knowledge. I was working off of news accounts that said the Marines were in the April operation, and that Marines and the 1st Cavalry Div. took part in the November operation.
Well, I must be referring to the November operation (that's when my daughter was there), the one in which Fallujah was cleaned out once and for all. So perhaps I'm in the wrong here. That was the big, "Final", battle.
I should have picked up on the "April" in your post.
In any case, please pass on my thanks to your daughter for her service.
> The trophy room is good stuff. Also sad that punks like those in the trophy room would try that crap.
I think it goes to the complete contempt moonbats have towards our military, its principles and its men and women. They really think it's just a bunch of guys running rag-tag killing civilians. And that impersonating them takes only an equal discipline and attention to detail.
They have no clue.
Note to DU and other lefty lurkers:
Take your favorite hobby. Restoring a Jaguar? Karate? The writings of Che? Whatever. You know someone who you're in awe of because of their knowledge. Rangers, Marines and other fighting men know THEIR stuff BETTER. Why? They LIVE/D it 24/7 for years. What did they talk about on their down time? Yup, military history, codes, regs, etc. It's not a way of life. It IS life.
You cannot jump into this elite group of brave Americans and just pull stuff out of your *ss. You are disheartened to report "that the site that should not be named smoked this guy out in 10 minutes"? You could do the same with *your* areas of expertise. Why is it such a surprise when a loser like "Ranger" MacBeth is spotted as a fraud in seconds?

Ranger Pat Tillman

Poser Macbeth
Okay, which one is the real Army Ranger.
Thank you for the clarification.
God Bless your daughter. God Bless her parents.
I worked with a guy several years ago who claimed to be a ranger with a silver star from the first gulf war as a tanker. He retired as a staff sergeant and came back to work a few years later as a contractor with a major defense firm and PhD hung on the end of his name. They required a security clearance - oops EXPOSED! He even claimed to have written computer code for NASA and a lunar rover.
Thanks, I'll pass the word.
Had to go back to work. Good to meet ya!
Aside from his "deer in the headlights" expression, there's something physically wrong with the picture itself. The frame and the wall are in sharp focus. The picture itself is very diffuse, like it was behind frosted glass. Or the image was blown up from a much larger picture, and "pasted" into the frame.
Y'all have done a good job trashing the creds of this pathetic POS, but I figure a bit of extra piling on can't hurt.
just another wannabe POS to play with. The more the lefties throw dung like this against the wall the better it is for us.
Same sh*t...different war.
Now that is interesting.
Thanks for the heads up.
These guys always hang themselves. In this case, his Military.com bio is a dead giveaway. No human being on the face of the planet has been awarded the Combat Action Badge with Star. The CAB was initiated during the ongoing Global War on Terror and is not retroactive - No one has been awarded a star. Moreover, soldiers elibible for the Combat Infantryman's Badge cannot be awarded the CAB.
This guy is a 24 karat gold plated phoney. If you care to correspond with him directly, send your letter to: John F. Kerry, United States Senate, Attn: Winter Soldier Project.
My company made the mistake of hiring one of these phoneys. He claimed USMC special ops background (very, very rare), multiple decorations in the post Vietnam era (even more rare), and top secret records (only assignments are classified, not personnel records). Myself and another manager who is an ex-unit member blew a cork when we heard what this guy had claimed. In five minutes on the internet, we had completely smoked him. I'm sure that we could do the same with young Jason.
The wonders of the blogsphere and the internet ensure that the kind of fraud that was advanced by John Kerry and the Winter Soldier Project can never happen again. For that, I am glad.
Looks to me to be a bad Photoshop job. Look at the sharp line just under the beret, and the weird neck length.
Some good discussion on this idiot here:
http://www.socnetcentral.com/vb/showthread.php?t=60055
I think this guy better keep a low profile from here on out.
Protein Wisdom also has this interesting story from an Arizona newspaper in November of 2003.
http://www.eacourier.com/articles/2003/11/03/news/news02.txt
If he was in an assault on Fallujah, it would have been the invasion in spring of '03. Near as I can determine, however, the Rangers were assigned to Tikrit, not Fallujah.
It continues.
What a pantload this kid is trying to hand us.
The story is so full of holes, Depot Maintenance couldn't patch them all.
That's not a uniform - that's a costume.
Another Winter Soldier. And he's being believed, just like JF'nK. The Left is now figuring that, if someone is getting "swiftboated", they must be the real thing.
Okay, as of this hour, Blackfive is reporting that the poser's Military.com profile has been redacted to remove any references to CAB's or CIB's.
They also report that YouTube has pulled the video - at least they're not featuring it.
The Saga Continues...
