That is a BS argument, I have been to, or organized many, many of these things, all over the East Coast. Why don't they say it is nice and important, but I have better things to do with my time, the kids soccer, dance class, weight watchers.

How nice for you to have conquered your passions. But some people really can't mix it up in close quarters with audaciously provocative leftie nutjobs without losing control. They are wise to know their limitations so that violence does not occur, in accordance with the DC Chapter guidelines.
That said, there are many very peaceful but essential and FReeps which are very important to the troops and their families, and that could certainly use the support of more FReepers (temper or no temper) such as those every Friday night at 7:00 at Walter Reed.
An added reminder: although the Code Pinkos are present at Walter Reed, we have long ago outmanueuvered them away from the main gates, and they have now taken a spot about a block away that they are too ashamed to admit on their web site. We are also separated from them by a 6-lane avenue.
So our main FReeper function is the most important one: surrounding all four corners at the gates of Walter Reed on Fridays when the families come to visit, giving them and the troops who come and go get a big welcome, and making sure no leftie nutcases return to the main gates with their traitorious anti-war signs and ghoulish tantrums. Join us!
It may differ among the states, but IIRC, "Assault" can be anything that conceivably constitutes the presentation of a threat; a sudden change in posture, taking a swing, flashing a weapon, whatever. "Battery" is when physical contact is made in the course of an assault.
There's enough on the video to support filing criminal charges. Others present could be deposed.
Keep those cameras rolling and get one back in the ranks to capture what happens to the videographer out front.

I was doing a lot of computer housekeeping the past few days - I needed to free up some hard drive space so I can capture all the video from that day onto my computer for safekeeping. I am expecting that someone else will be wanting my original video cassette for other things.
