Trying to collect the two grand?
I am too, no luck so far.
I'm not sure what would happen if a Guard is shot. I would think it would depend on the circumstances, like who shot him.
What do you think will happen?
I read that the Guard who are out there will be armed and the rules of engagement will be that they are allowed to shoot to defend themselves.
I know a fellow just returning from being a civilian contractor for a year in Iraq, where he was on leave from Texas Air Force Guard with their blessing. He'll be reinstated in his old unit on his return and be available for recall.
He was in Iraq for a year in 2004 with his unit.
I think the enemedia will underplay it and make it seem as if the victim (American) provoked the attack.
Then, there will be a hugh backlash.
If the media tries to make it seem that the victim provoked the attack, they'll probably be running into a stiff headwind as the most likely scenario for a death is from drug dealers armed with AK's.
As someone who has served in the Territorial Army the British version that was my take as well.
How many companies are happy to let there workers go for a lengthy period.
can't hurt
It's working for some folks in my unit!!!
"Okay, now what's gonna happen when the first American Guard personnel is shot? You KNOW it's gonna happen."

OPINION:
If he lives, not much publicity -- like the attacks on border patrol now.
If he dies, it will be like the leos.
You probably get your name on a plaque somewhere and maybe they'll hang your photo on the wall.
A funeral service.
A funeral procession.
Family and friends will grieve.
And so it goes...
