May 24, 2006 Hillary Clinton chose the day before her husband's former vice president hits the theaters with a documentary aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of global warming to make her own first "major policy statement" on energy and the environment.
Al Gore, the failed Democratic presidential candidate in 2000, staked out his turf on global warming two decades ago, long before the term meant anything to any but a few environmentalists. Clinton, the former first lady and current New York senator who is projected by many as the Democrats' likely candidate for president in 2008, is coming late to the topic, but she may be ready to make it her own.
That's the image RJ Matson, political cartoonist for "Roll Call," the newspaper of Capitol Hill, conjures up today. In his cartoon, named "An Inconvenient Truth" after Gore's film, Clinton drives a Hummer and is just about to run down Gore, who struggles to pedal his bicycle.
"I don't wish to imply that Hillary is not an environmentalist, just that as a politician determined to position herself as a centrist, she would be more likely to pander to SUV-loving voters. She has to play catch-up on the global warming issue," Matson said.
Gore's documentary, which rolls out across the country this week, is a movie that he said is meant as a wake-up call for Americans to become more energy efficient.
But, according to some political analysts, it also seems to have been a wake-up call for Clinton to get on the global warming bandwagon.

Not entirely a typical puff piece about the beast by ABC.
If she stopped blowing out all that hot air it could only help..
'dangers of global warming'
Looking forward to it.
It frosted the last 2 nights in Southeast Michigan.
From where Her Heinous hails from, what's a little global warming?

She already did make a 'first policy statement' didn't she? Just yesterday she proposed the "I Can Drive 55" policy statement, which is aimed mainly for consumption by far-left-fringe radicals seeking to reduce automotive driving speeds to 55mph, then to 37mph, then to 22mph, then to eventually a nice calm 4mph (walking speed). In other words, because of so-called 'global warming' you may no longer drive an automobile, but must walk to the nearest New York Times newstand to get your morning propaganda

Has anyone ever read that book beginning to end? I tried, really I tried(!), but it was so damn cumbersome and repetitive as well as sophomoric and generally chicken-little'ish that I gave up on it some 100 pages thru its small printed 400 pages. Wonder how many trees were murdered in order to print this piece of childish crap?

Yeah, you GO, girl !!!

Very telling statement. Basically it says that Hillary is nothing more than a cheap pandering politician and that she's jumping on the 'global warming' bandwagon because it will give her some gravitas for the far left loony fringe. Meanwhile it implies that she is sympathetic to us 'SUV loving' normal Americans, while at the same time giving comfort to those lefties who she supposedly abandoned recently.

Fergit it Al, we're not 'waking up' ... and no primal scream from you is gonna change that. Go back to counting chads, Al ....

Don't confuse the issue with facts.
"I always wanted to be a scientist", said Hillary.
Bubba was Prez for 8 years. I guess we didn't have these energy problems before President Bush took Office because Bubba did sh**.
*snort*
Gee, Hillsy, was that before or after you REALLY wanted to be a Marine? Astronaut, you say? Sir Edmund Hillary, was it?
More proof that Hillary is always a follower, never a leader. Needless to say she talks out of both sodes of her mouth at once. Next thing you know she'll be firing off the gun at the NASCAR races.
