I am somewhat skeptical of local governments taking over from private industry. It means more government expenditures, bureaucracy, and more taxpayer expense for service that may not be as good. As history has proven over and over again. What's interesting is how hard it is to convince some of the true believers here at FR that this is a better course of action. There was a time when conservatives actively campaigned for the privatization of government assets. Now, if we do so, we're labeled global socialists and denounced as something less than patriotic. It's always important to consider the source when dealing with protectionists.

I can name many illegal alien CONSUMERS who are not CITIZENS. But that's not what I asked. Can you name an American citizen (still living) who is not also a consumer?

I've asked you this question before but you've never responded. Why don't you acknowledge citizenship of the people who live in this country? If your constituency is consumers then illegal aliens can be your constituency. "Free traders" who think borders just get in the way, find this concept quite acceptable. However, taxpaying citizens who foot the bill for everything and give their lives defending the nation in our military might and do think otherwise.

Especially when the idea originated with a globalist like Bill Clinton.

No. But then I don't whimper about being indirectly referred-to as a "isolationist tinfoiler," either.

Because I'm telling you what you can do after making a comment such as "Why don't you cut out the name calling, rick." That, or stick it.
