It's the one thing I most disliked about him, other than the Iran-contra fraccas.

"Humans are the only animals naturally susceptible to HIV."

Sounds like an argument for PETA.

And like so many new infections, AIDS appears to have been passed to humans from animals they slaughtered.

Or sodomized.

Studies have traced HIV to a man who gave a blood sample in 1959 in Kinshasa, then called Leopoldville. Later analysis found the AIDS virus.

I had never heard this before. I had always heard that AIDs started in the 70s (as a CIA experiment to kill black people per one of my more paranoid friends). So it has existed well before the 60s.

Reminds me of the scene from (Indiana Jones) Temple of Doom, where they served Chilled Monkey Brains for desert. Yum...

Allow me to continue the next bit of news with a "monkey flying out of my ass" routine...

You could get AIDS from that...

"I'm studying primate scatology, "

Whew, when I first read this I read scatology as Scientology.

My bad.

"...perhaps by killing and eating them..."

I dont think theres any "perhaps" about it. You watch those documentaries about the trade in "bush meat" up and down the Congo river, and the problem seems pretty obvious.
