Pence stepped forward because he knows that a stalemate on this issue is unacceptable. If we do do secure our border WE WILL LOSE OUR MAJORITY in November.Pence knows that the only way to secure the border(politically) is to pass HR4437 and that the Senate simply will not take that up by itself. So Pence proposed the most conservative compromise possible(politically)NOt perfect, but nothing in Gov ernment ever is.

BOTTOM LINE:
Until you APPROVE Racial profiling, no employer will dare question the documents presented to them, out of fear of HUGE lawsuits......
And that will happen about ten minutes after hell freezes over.....
We've PC's ourselves into a corner on this one, I'm afraid.....

The future of the country is in the hands of the House since the President and Senate sold out to big business and special interests.

Ha! You might be one of our few paleos left! I think we will get all them back once Pence delivers his bill and the details are more concrete.

I like Pence's bill too; does it stand a chance of being incorporated into the Senate bill that just passed?

I can accept Mike's compromise, I would have liked a part that states anyone deported would never be allowed back into the country.
The Senate is on a fast track to give up our Country to law breakers.
I hope he will not agree to any more compromises.
Next year the "Government Masters" will scream we can not deport the 14 to 16 million law breakers.

I have no idea...
..let's ask Gipper
Do you think Pence's bill has a chance of being incorporated into the Senate bill that just passed?
To: Gipper08
You know, businesses are not part of the government. It is stunning that you want them to enforce the law, but you have no provision for insuring that law enforcement does its part. How about having Justice crack down on sanctuary cities?
Second, the Mexicans who are working for business make up about 25% of the illegals. Yet, all of the discussion is about them. That is because Californians have not dealt with this problem and want to foist it off on the rest of us. Put a fence up around CA. Send them to their room and tell them to stay there until they are ready to act right.
Shoot, VD Hansen is writing about traffic in Napa. How is it that those la de da vintners can't handle their own traffic? Go to the City Council or the county commission and get your sherrif on this problem. Don't make a federal case of it.
To: Gipper08
Now we need to email congress. I suggest we ask them to support the "Pence Compromise".
To: Gipper08
Do you happen to know if this bill gives amnesty to the present employers of illegals?

Only if the House rises as one telling the Senate " security first,no amnesty,No citizenship, and they all must go home" and exchange the House will let some of them back in in a limited Guest worker.I would say Pence's plan only has a 33% chance.(we the people have a big say in that) Chairman James Sensenbrenner is the key.

4. NO path to citizenship will be granted A great part of Pences plan is that it will not reward any of the 10 to 12 million illegal aliens who broke the law with a path to citizenship. Should an illegal alien return home and then be eligible for a guest worker card then he would have to learn English if he wants a renewal after two years. After six years if he wants to stay in the United States he would have to enter a separate and unrelated process of permanent immigrant status or citizenship. He would have to do so at the end of the line. His Guest Worker status would end after six years after which he would either go home or get in the back of the line for citizenship. This is good.
5. Anchor baby citizenship will end Pence is a co sponsor of a provision to end anchor babies. Under the Pence plan a Guest Workers newborn child would have no citizenship rights to the United States. That baby would be a citizen of his\her home country rather than the U.S. where they would simply be a guest.
Well, the Constitution says if you are born here you are a citizen.
6. Removes all 10 to 12 million illegal aliens for United States The Pence plan says that all illegal aliens in the United States must go home. Pences method is self deportation. Pence says self deportation will work in two ways. First being the new enforcement standards combined with the old existing enforcement standards. Employers simply will not be able to continue to hire illegal aliens without facing huge fines, loss of license, and\or prison. Jobs for illegals will dry up and they will go home because of that.
I don't think this will work and it would probably be more realistic and less aggravating to the economy to let them apply for guest worker status without going home.
All in all though, it's better than the Senate bill.

I am not sure.I think the fine would be whatever money they would have to pay to be compliant with the new Guestworker database,Government regulation etc and or paying for the ILLEGALS while they are in Mexico or wherever applying for Guestworker.Pence plan I presume would make past employer violators pay for the compliance costs of the "innocent" employers in order to avoid an unfunded mandate.I am not sure.

Didn't I read that Hastert appointed RINOs to the conference committee and that was discouraging freepers? If so, your guess at 33% sounds about right.
