The world will never end, at least not from anything puny man can do even if we tried. Even after an all-out nuclear war some humans, animals, and vegetation would survive, adapt to the hostile environment, and eventually repopulate and reforest the earth.

The mother hen alarmists and envirokook minority is working hard to have their own wrongheaded, idealistic, collectivist ideology forced onto the rest of us at the expense of our property rights, our treasure, and most importantly our liberty, and they will only succeed if we allow them to.

Al Gore and the rest of the Global Warming Moonies should be ridden out of town on a rail wearing tar and feathers. These miserable malignant bastards promulgate a theory which is not only false but against the economic interest of the United States. Nothing is done to them when their fallacies are shown to be that. They keep their tenure and other sinecures
and continue with the same kant.

Liberals have already succeeded in lowering the reasoning levels of millions of Americans.

Perhaps, eliminating "Global Warming" in their encore'.

The illusion is achieved by throwing out so many statistics, arguments, and distortions on CO2 that the real goal gets lost. Nobody remembers to ask how policies to reduce CO2 will reduce temperature.

The hypothesis that the earth will warm X degrees by 2100 if we do nothing is a hypothesis that cannot be disproved and threfore is not scientific. The draconian measures offered to solve the hypothesized problem cannot be proved to be any more effective than prayer.

According to Wigley, if there were 100 percent compliance with Kyoto by countries that were original parties to the treaty (not just the countries that ratified it), including the United States, the effect on temperature would be undetectable. The temperature would be 0.0126° F lower by 2050 and anywhere from 0.18° F to 0.37° F lower by 2100. This data is outlined in greater detail in a recent John Locke Foundation study.

Even this, by necessity, is linear logic. It assumes all other things will remain stable except those affected by Kyoto. We know that won't happen. There will be volcanic eruptions, forest fires, floods, droughts, and other things controlled only by nature, not man, which will change the scenario.

That doesn't matter to the leftists because global warming is not their target anyway. This is just another way to handicap the USA so that we don't make the socialists states look so bad. That, plus grabbing more power over our lives.

The scientific evidence for "Global Warming" just isn't there. Thirty years ago the liberals were warning about "Global Freezing". That didn't happen either.

The world is either warming or cooling and that is a fact, what is at issue is what is the cause and can or should anything be done about it.

Thus, just like any good conspiracy theory, facts never get in the way.

In fact things that tend to disprove the Global Warming Conspiracy (calling it a theory is putting lipstick on the pig). That the global observed temperatures have not gone up as drastically as their models predicted is now being explained away by Solar Dimming (yes, PBS seems to think that man made pollution is effecting the output of the Sun), where they postulate that man made particulate pollution is masking the effect of greenhouse gasses and when we clean up the air the temperatures will jump to levels even higher than the most draconian predictions.

FTI: FreeRepublic does not 'bump' like VB or UBB. When you post, it does not 'move to the top', so it is useless to post "bump" here.

The hell it doesn't. Just replying to you brought this thread to the top of the list (momentarily) on the "browse" page. Whether he says "bump" or "ping", doesn't matter. The post puts that thread at the top.

If I walked up to you, shook your hand, turned and walked away and then professed to know everything about you, that would be the same as studying the earth's climate for the past 120 years and saying we know everything there is to know about it over the thousands of years climate existed.

In case that was not clear, I am agreeing with you. We have not been studying the climate long enough to know if what we see today is not a normal pattern. If it is warming, it may be part of a natural cycle.

Personally, I find it the greatest folly in the world that man should fashion himself as so powerful that he can alter the natural course of this earth. We can muke it up, change it temporarily. But in the end, it will go back to the way it wants to be.

If it is being looked at in "messages" rather than "threads" format.
