NO. It's EXACTLY what I expect from CBS. Their hatred for all things Republican is once again on exhibit here.
Is it the kind of "mistake" a reporter could make? Sure, one working at the Peoria Record, maybe. CBS? Either it's a dilberate lie (most likely) or an unconscience wish.

See BS has an average age audience of over 60. The last of the Kennedy Democrats. Rush's radio show has a larger daily audience than does See BS's evening news cast.
They are truly irrelevant and no longer have an effect on public opinion. Shucks, those geriatric Dems who still believe everything they see on the evening news are rapidly dying off. Most of them are in poor health and live on Soshul Sickurity. They also look to the Democrats to keep their housing, food and drugs coming....what a bunch of losers!

And this really surprises ANYONE? The SHOCK the media got for the 2004 Election was that their anointed "front man," Dan Rather, got SLAUGHTERED! All they are doing is carrying out their ORIGINAL 2004 plan
Yep, and from a Freeper man, Buckhead!!!

Yup . .this is bad
(CBS/AP) Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and FBI director Robert Mueller signaled they would resign this week rather than give in to Congress in a dispute over an FBI raid on Rep. William Jefferson's Capitol Hill office, an administration official tells
CBS News.
Top law enforcement officials at the Justice Department and the FBI indicated to their counterparts at the White House that they could not, and were unwilling to, return documents to the Louisiana
Republican which were seized as part of a bribery investigation.
I get the feeling that the copy editors for CBS and the writers for the now defunked "West Wing" are the same person.
Write a liberal fantasy screen play, CBS will report it as news, and NBC will green light 13 episodes for next season.

Just remember, a headline made to their listeners/viewers, is accepted uncontested as fact. Most of them are so miss/uninformed, that they have no clue who Jefferson is and if the headline says he is a Republican, the idiot/dummies who watch See BS are convinced it is just another "Corrupt" Republican exposed by the media and they will not look into or for the facts themselves.
See BS knows this all too well and will not bother to issue a formal apology or correction. And it was done fully with that in mind because their audience is too ignorant to figure it out.

I just emailed a complaint:
In your story located at (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/05/27/politics/main1662805.shtml) you refer to William Jefferson thusly... "...and were unwilling to, return documents to the Louisiana Republican which were seized as part of a bribery investigation."
Even most blogs are able to refer to the correct political affiliations of Representatives. I suggest investing in a fact checker or perhaps even proofreading your content before publishing.
But I suspect this rather more than a case of incompetence.
To: Lacey
William Jefferson D-La secretly switched parties during the night and only cbs got the story.

FLASHBACK

Dan Rather: "Mr. President, if only you knew how
much I and your other servants at CBS support, worship, bow, grovel and kneel to you.
We will NEVER let American forces hurt you. Trust us.
We have faithfully covered up all your atrocities, Mr. President. In their place we attack our Bush,
for you will forever know that CBS is forever with you, Mr. President."

Terrorist-Murderer Saddam: "Mr, Rather, it is absolutely remarkable that you girly men at CBS
repeatedly betray your own country.
Do you realize, Mr. Rather, that for millions of Iraqis who were my captives
I previously had to gang rape each man's child and each man's wife,
and then burn them each of them in nitric acid and muriatic acid,
and then mutilate them by cutting off at an ear or their genitals,
or by forcing them to watch my sons push their raped children through a wood shredder.
But even then, Mr. Rather, I got only get a fraction of YOUR obedience and loyalty.
Thank you, Mr. Rather. CBS is truly Allah's and our faithful Baathist's messenger in our Jihad."

True, but I think Rush would have more fun with this one.
See BS really is pond scum. Entertaining pond scum though. It would be fun to be a fly on the wall at one of their "meetings", and watch them congratulate one another on their cleverness at "sticking it to the Bush admin". Too dumb for words.
