Amazing. Saturday, Sunday, Monday, found Tuesday...eight years old alone in the wilderness for three days and found alive. God bless him and his family.

Good news. These type of stories usually end up going the other way.

Lucky Charms?

Well, whatever. . .for sure a miracle that this child was found alive.

(This could however, give a new twist to a colorful kids cereal. . .)

Crews find 8-year-old boy 'alive and well'
written by: Jeffrey Wolf Web Producer

FREMONT COUNTY - Search crews found a boy who had been missing for almost four days Saturday Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities say 8-year-old Evan Thompson was found alive and well at about 4:20 p.m. Authorities say he was uninjured.

"This is wonderful news," said Zak Slutzsky with Western State Mountain Rescue. "We never give up hope on anyone."

Crews had found fresh tracks earlier in the day. Thompson's "Spider-Man" sneakers left the image of a spider in the dirt, so his tracks were easy to identify.

Thompson disappeared during a camping trip along Shelf Road between Cripple Creek and Canon City in the Red Canyon Park area Saturday morning.

Thompson was walked out of the area from where he was found. It was not immediately known where exactly he was found and how far away it was from the camp site.

The Alpine Rescue Team, the National Guard and the Civil Air Patrol all helped local law enforcement agencies in the search. There were about 90 people on the ground, plus four tracking dogs.

One searcher fell Tuesday and was taken out by ambulance with minor injuries.

Thompson has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and had been without his medication for several days. That had concerned search crews because the medication helps him focus.

Now that he's been found, Thompson's aunt, Teddi Gray, told 9NEWS she wants to treat him to hot dogs, pickles and raspberry slurpees.

Great news! Can't imagine a little boy just a year older than my son out in the wilderness for 4 days. How he's grown now, probably 4 years in 4 days.

He disappeared after eating a breakfast of Lucky Charms...

He may have to file a product liability suit against them. There's hard evidence that at least one of those "charms" (possibly more) was not lucky.

Note that the article makes a big deal of his being without his medication for several days. His medication being Ritalin. Oh jeez.

I don't think I could last three days in the woods with the crop of mosquitos we have this year. There would be no blood left in me.

The wet spring was good for morel mushroom picking but we are starting to pay the price, "big time".

ADHD is not even an actual affliction. it's made up, in my opinion, so that working Moms and parents who don't want or don't have the stomach to discipline their kids can have an excuse to medicate them. good Lord. i mean, we didnt have ritalin for thousands of years and now all of a sudden 40% of male children are supposedly suffering from it. it's called being a boy, for crying out loud. i can only imagine what this drug is doing to the boys of the US and how it is going to affect their development.

30 years from now the country will be ruled by women. God help us all.
