TOPICS: Government; Politics/Elections; US: California
KEYWORDS: ballot; ca; california; election; primary; republican; santaclaracounty; vote
My leanings so far...

Judge - Superior Court; County of Santa Clara; Office 8: Douglas B. Allen: Good endorsements. Serious experience. Reveals where he stands. I think Doug's the one.
William J. Monahan: Endorsed by Mike Honda & Zoe Lofgren? What's he been doing for 'dem lately?

George S. Cole: Sounds okay, but lightweight.

Judge - Superior Court; County of Santa Clara; Office 13: No meaningful information to work with. Anybody else have something? Otherwise, I'll this one blank.

Assessor; County of Santa ClaraThey are both democrats. I probably won't bother voting for either.

Sheriff; County of Santa Clara: Not much choice here, and I guess she's not a bad sheriff. But Smith's endorsment of Cindy Chavez makes me want to withhold my vote.

Measure A. More Sales Tax: No! This makes ours the highest sales tax rate in the state. And you know they're going to waste it. There would be plenty of money for health and emergency services if they'd send the illegal alien abusers home and keep them there.
Measure B. Parks: There was no argument against it submitted, and I just enjoyed a county park last weekend, but I'm voting "NO". It will pass anyway, but in priciple it could be money put back in the hands of taxpayers or used elsewhere in emergencies.

Too bad nobody is opposing Sheriff Laurie.

She ruined the Search & Rescue program.
She won't issue concealed carry permits.

Seems like we're stuck with her again.

Doug Allen is a good choice. I've voted for him previously.

I've been looking to unseat Larry Stone since he openly declared we aren't paying enough in propery taxes.

I have no idea about the 13th.

Measure "A" must be defeated!

For DA of Santa Clara Co., I would encourage my fellow FReeper to support Marc Buller.

He spoke at my church last week (The Home Church, Campbell, CA)and I was impressed on his stance on moral issues as well as his attitude toward protecting our society from those bent on criminal behavior. Others in the church that work and associate with Buller are "Salt of the Earth" and speak well of his record.

Chuck Reed also made an appearance. He seems even more humble in person than when I have heard him speak on the radio or on television. I truly wish he was a bit more strident, but he was the only Sup. that voted against Mayor Gonzales recognizing the gay marriages performed in San Francisco and therefore providing benefits to said employees.

"...looking to unseat Larry Stone since he openly declared we aren't paying enough in properly taxes." Thanks, CounterCounterCulture. I'm not sure I like either one, but I'll probably vote for Pete "Primo" McHugh, based on what you're saying.

"...encourage my fellow FReeper to support Marc Buller." Thanks, dersepp. Somehow I missed evaluating DA. I guess Marc doesn't have a website of his own? I'll probably vote for Marc Buller, then, based on what you're saying.

Even though I don't like Larry Stone, I now cannot vote for McHugh now either. Particularly since McHugh is boasting in his campaign ads about establishing the "Children's Health Initiative" and establishing the Cesar Chavez holiday, and is endorsed by the South Bay Labor Council and the Democrat Party Central Committee.

I'm going to leave it blank.

Thanks. Blank it is. Do you have a published source?
