State Comptroller Alan Hevesi apologized for a remark about "putting a bullet between the president's eyes." Did he cross the line?
Yes, very much so.
Maybe a little.
Nah, he was just joking.
I'm not sure.

Every FReeper needs to vent some outrage and not let this die. This man should be jailed, or at the very least be made to drop out of his race in disgrace. He should be held accountable!
FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me and gordongekko909 if you want to be added or removed from the Freep this Poll! Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list)
Hevesi at home:

Naw, I hope he stays IN the race so he can lose, rather than get a new Dem candidate in who has a (relatively) clean slate.

I'm hoping he stays in and that his Republican challenger, Christopher Callaghan (Dutchess County treasurer) uses it big time!
17.4% say no. Maybe that's why this country is going to hell.
I did mark off every day... until the bent one was gone.
Now I'm marking off every day until the Beast is defeated and she won't run again for anything.

Already accountable to the SS, I just wish I could be a fly on that wall.

Why would a question even have to be asked? It is a given that he crossed the line! What on earth is the matter with people!
Ah, excuse me...but hasn't the Secret Service taken him in for questioning? If not, why not?
Ah, yes, the 3 brain dead that have to show up to vote "not sure"
Hevesi is a typical New York liberal worm, crawling around in the same putrid humus as Chuckie Schumer. Hillery, Pataki and Bloomberg.
The names are different but they are all the same low-life species.
"Behold a Democrat indeed, in whom is no guile!"
I remember when JFK was shot the media highlighted a group of school children who cheered the assassination and warned that this is where the right-wing was taking us.
Ok, this is not a school-child. This is a grown Democrat. He spoke for a lot of other grown Democrats. This will not make the news of the day in most places.
Imagine if some one of us had said the same thing on-line about, oh, I don't know, pick an evil Democrat.
FR would be closed down and the person posting it would be smeared all across the media. (Even if we ended it with </sarc.>
The hell with it. I am going to bed.

People have been saying this country has been going to Hell for a long time, and I wouldnt say we've gotten there yet. There's plenty of good stuff going on in this country, most of which I find out about here at FR. Problem is, idiots like this Hevesi scum cast a dark shadow over any good news that may be out there.
I'm not so sure that this country is going to Hell, but Hevesi might want to watch his words lest he does!
I voted here at work, and will vote again from home. I believe in ballot-box stuffing!
