I am looking for recommendations for interesting and well written conservative publications. Not ones that regurgitate each other but new cutting edge thinking.
I need to spice up my bedtime reading.
TOPICS: Culture/Society; News/Current Events; Philosophy; Your Opinion/Questions
KEYWORDS: journal; periodical; recommend
To: Chickensoup
National Review, The American Spectator. I used to subscribe to Conservative Chronicles. Limbaugh Letter.

I like "Imprimis" from
Hillsdale College.
Go to their website and subscribe. It's free. Or just read it online.

I was just joking. But it would be nice if FR published a monthly magazine.

Conservative Chronicles - stopped because I couldn't keep up with the reading necessary, and the internet now fulfills the need nicely. The hardcopy just turned into clutter.

Yeah I believe they have a newsstand edition. But I just print out what I want to read online and staple it together to peruse later. My own "stack of stuff".

The Patriot Post, formerly known as The Federalist.
Comes via email 3× weekly, with the Friday edition being the most comprehensive.
You can also choose to receive as a PDF, then print out and read at your leisure.

I agree City Journal and World magazine are very good, not to say that the others aren't. I also like First Things, Commentary, the Claremont Review, the New Criterion and Modern Age; I think you get a good mix of ideas and reporting from different parts of the conservative spectrum from these. I especially like the back and forth in the letters section in Commentary and First Things.
It's too bad that there's no really good libertarian magazine out there anymore (maybe I missed it). Reason used to have some good articles, at least those in an anti-domestic socialism vein, and I suppose it still does, but under Nick Gillespie, it's really shifted to the left, celebrating Hugh Hefner and the pop singer Madonna as icons.
The Weekly Standard still has good articles in every issue, especially in its book review, but I think Bill Kristol is dragging it down somewhat as Gillespie did to Reason. Neither he nor their house economist seem all that conservative to me-- the "National Greatness Conservatism" Kristol shares with David Brooks exemplefies the political philosophy of John McCain, not of conservatism. And National Review is (OF COURSE) still great.
