Yay! I am VERY ready for Sanity Island today. Love the picture of the Day. I'm glad our president doesn't scowl like a coach on the sidelines! LOL!

Wow...kind of like the joke about kittens raining down from heaven, huh, Wolfie! Thank you for your rescue work!

This is SO cool. I've been hankering for a new toaster but have sort of given up hope since a certain FReeper has come aboard the ship to Sanity Island. I'll have to look around to see which photo strikes me.

You are all welcome, of course. Yep, a bunch of kittens. I'm told the two I put in foster care on Wednesday are doing well. The three I have are worrying me. I've raised puppies, but never orphan kittens. They aren't eating as well as I think they are supposed to be eating. They are piddling, but not doing the other end of their business. The vet told me to stimulate them, but either I'm not doing it right or something else is wrong. Hopefully nature will taken its course. :(
Otherwise they seem OK.

My vet told me to get some tissue wet, using warm water, to stimulate them to evacuate.
I've done rescue work with one very newborn (eyes not open) kitten and it's a lotta work. Their tummies are very tiny.

Good girl. Go get yourself a treat!

My vet told me to get some tissue wet, using warm water, to stimulate them to evacuate. Thanks Gretchen. I'm worried I'm not doing it right. Are you supposed to stroke or rub in a particular way or direction?

Wish I were closer - I'd come over and babysit. Try warming some oil and using that on a tissue 'back there'. It stays warmer a little longer and helps out some. If you know what I mean. lol good luck!

Rub gently, the way the mama cat would.

Rub gently, the way the mama cat would.Thanks. I'll try. I've been using a soft paper towel, but think I'll go to a damp wash cloth because it is more similar to the mom's tounge.

A friend of mine at work father raised a litter that were younger than yours. He had to feed them with formula milk with a dropper every few hours. He worked shifts so he managed to do the nights with his wife doing the days.
They raised them all and found homes for them all and most of them lived to their teens.
I will ask if they had any problems with constipation.

So many pictures, so few toasters! I can't choose between these (and about 50 others, but I narrowed it to two!).

I will ask if they had any problems with constipation. Thanks, snugs. I'm hoping nature will take its course sometime in the next few hours. I have an appointment for them at the vet on Tuesday afternoon, but that's too long to wait for nature. ;-)
