Help stop passage of Gay / transgender lifestyles being taught to our kids in California (Toll Free)
Email to Californians | June 4, 2006 | Me

Heads up !!! This is not a joke, it is for real. Please make the call to Governor Schwarzenegger's office.

This took less than a minute and you don't have to talk to a soul. The governor needs to hear from us. Just follow the instructions to vote against this deviant lifestyles propaganda they want to include as MANDATORY, in school text books, and as curriculum. -Thanks,

For the sake of our children and our schools, PLEASE take a moment to CALL...

You may know about a piece of legislation that is pending in Sacramento. It is SB 1437. If this bill passes, it would require that all school districts teach about the homosexual / lesbian, transgender, etc. lifestyles – and that this info be included in textbooks. It would be taught from kindergarten through 12th grade. It is disguised (of course) as an "anti-discrimination bill."

Most of us do not support this, however it is IMPORTANT to let the Gov. know. Join me in calling Gov. Schwarzenegger about vetoing this bill. It will take less than a minute of your time.

Please call the Governor's switchboard at 916-445-2841.

Phone recording will ask if you want this message in English: Yes, press 1

Is this in regards to a Legislation Bill? Yes, press 2

Is the bill SB 1437 ? Yes, press 1

Are you in favor of this legislation? No, press 2

Send this off to as many Californians as you can. We are talking about our kids here. Personally, I have nothing against gay people but I don't want this nonsense taught in the schools.

Schwarzenegger already said he will veto it.

Thank God for Arnold.

A Dem governor would sign it in a minute -- Angelides and Westly are on record that they would sign the homosexual marriage bill, which Arnold also vetoed.

Schwarzenegger Promises Veto of GLBT Education Bill

http://www.sfbaytimes.com/?sec=article&article_id=5063

Governor Arnold Schwarz-enegger has announced that he will veto Senate Bill 1437, a bill authored by Senator Sheila Kuehl (D-Santa Monica) and sponsored by Equality California (EQCA) to add sexual orientation and gender identity to existing state curriculum anti-bias rules. SB 1437, the Bias Free Curriculum Act, would amend two sections of law that presently require the inclusion into the curriculum of the role and contributions of traditionally underrepresented groups and prohibit adoption of teaching materials that reflect negatively on such groups. The bill would simply add lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people to these existing categories that enhance teaching materials while ultimately leaving educators free to design their own particular courses of study.

Governor Schwarzenegger vetoed two LGBT-related bills prior to his ill-fated special election last year, including AB 849 (Mark Leno, D), which would have allowed same-sex couples to marry in California, and AB 866 (Yee, D), which would have simply added sexual orientation and gender to the lengthy list of groups protected by a voluntary fair campaign pledge.

(This article is biased -- they are quite upset that Arnold IS going to veto it and that he did veto two important bills before)

This is precisely the reason teachers don't have enough time in the day to teach children what they really need to know: reading, writing, and arithmetic. The government sets forth all this b.s. that HAS to be taught, thereby, cutting into the class time actually spent on task.

This to say NOTHING of the distasteful idea of, manditorially, teaching an alternative lifestyle. The gay rights lobbyists have done everything in their power to have the "alternative" dropped from the "lifestyle". Fortunately, they still aren't winning. I can't imagine how difficult this would be for most teachers.

If this passes in California, then it will be included in all of the states. California is such a huge textbook market (andTexas) that the publishers follow California guidelines when crafting new books. Even if other states deny this legislation, it will creep into their texbooks because it will already be included.

Thank God for Arnold.

Thank God for the upcoming election.

I had a reporter ask one of his press people if he would commit to not signing this kind of legislation EVER, like after the election. The person gave her the run around and ten days later still hasn't called back with an answer.
