Don't know if ya'll are old enough to remember the western "Branded" with Chuck Conners. In front of formation they ripped off his shoulder patches, broke his saber and tossed him out of the fort. They should do this to akbar just before they hang him...tomorrow.

I have read in a number of sources that our military and intelligence agencies are critically short of personnel that speak middle eastern languages and "understand" islam.
In my experience, the vast majority of Marines that make it through boot camp are intensely pro-American (john murtha excepted), regardless of their religion. This is a fertile recruiting ground for personal that will serve vital functions while we are at war in the middle east.
Good move

You left out that they ripped off all his coat buttons, the braided cavalry cord from his hat and the crest from his hat too.

Wish I could agree, but I do not. I just am not PC enough to think that our enemies should have their own centers among the military. There is something really wrong in this country.

freedom of religion a principal right I support this. Bigtime.

There is something really wrong in this country. You can say that again! I am not liking what I am seeing and hearing from military brass lately. in general in this country, we are rewarding bad and punishing good.

Freedom of religion is good.
Forcing people to be converted to a religion by force, like Islam, is not.
To: Drango
"....freedom of religion...." Religion?
Islam has proven to be a deadly plague, and Muslims are the sole carriers..

Thanks and this soldier converted as an adult and turned against his fellow soldiers in sympathy for the enemy.
If this building is appeasement it is shameful at such a time as this.

Who's going to lead the prayers? Murtha?

This should encourage American Muslims to enlist in the Marine Corps, Inshallah!

I really don't have adequate words for this travesty, this 'islamic prayer center' and all the mumbo jumbo spoken at the 'dedication.' It has me very worried.
