I would disagree, he could adapt since he is so brilliant, but something tells me he will not be the candidate, I still don't know why.
Sorry, I dropped the ball on that one big time.
The true Manchurian candidate.
I think we can beat him but it won't be by any huge margin. If he does go third party, I think he would piss the base(us) off so much that his take would be at best 50/50 dems/pubbies, just a guess.
Either way as long as he is not our nominee we should be o.k.
Given that their City Council just voted 4 - 3 not to display the American Flag -- on holidays -- "because they don't want to offend anyone"-- the pitiful turnout really shows that you get the representation you deserve when you stay home instead of voting.
If I recall, he didn't quit in 2000 and took it all the way to California -- where I suspect he'll win the GOP primary handily in '08. I will be suprised if he can carry Arizona, in the Primary, if a really good anti-immigration candidate runs against him.
I think we need to wait and see. I know a lot of Freepers hold his marital history against him, but in a major campaign, against Hillary, I suspect that is a subject that would be tip-toed around. Newt has a sharp wit and sharp tongue, and I could see him giving it back to madam Clinton almost as bad as Ann Coulter last week.
Wow remind me not to move there.
If McCain goes third party (and I suspect he may just do so) I think we'll see a repeat of 1991. Given that McCain thinks of no one but McCain he won't really care, if he doesn't win, who he hands the election to by such a move.
All but my sister have left; she has two kids in College and is working on her masters, so they are stuck for a while.
If Hillary turns out to be the Dem candidate I can envision McCain taking more Democrat votes than Republican. Too many Democrats dislike Hillary and the direction of their party. Republicans are more immune only because of the Perot factor and because McCain keeps doing things to tick everyone off, one way or another. McCain would only pick up some RINO support IF we have a more conservative candidate they can't accept.
Call a long-time Democrat a Move-On-Democrat, or a Michael Moore Democrat, and watch the fireworks. They hate being associated with Soros and all the current wacko groups.
Newt could make mincemeat out of Hillary if she would agree to a one on one debate but I don't see that or him being the one.
He did, but he also won at least one, if I remember right, before that and was stroked into believing Bush stole one of them from him. Plus, it was new to his ego then. Now, it won't be as nice and there will be more vocal opposition against him.
Bingo right on target.
I like George Allen. I also think he is lacking the charisma to make the jump to front-runner and he doesn't seem to be able to think as fast on his feet as a Newt or Rudy.
I would not miss that debate... the entertainment factor would make the hour or hour and half fly by.. I'd have to tape it as a classic. She would be an idiot to ever agree to debate Newt Gingrich.
This is so ironic! I just finished a freep mail to my buddy and we talked about lack of charisma by everyone but Rudy, like minds!
