Yes, he won New Hampshire and thought he was going to roll right over Bush and then South Carolina happened and it went downhill for him after that. By California is notorious bad temper could no longer be held in check and he lashed out at Maria Schriever when she (working for NBC) tried to ask him a question on his way to the podium to conceed to Bush. His temper is dangerous, he may smile and look like the doughboy, but he has a vicious temper.

She would be an idiot to ever agree to debate Newt Gingrich

Sadly that's the bottom line.

You can be assured he's run the numbers -- probably will try for the log cabin Republicans (evidenced by his vote last week)... other than that his stand on gay marriage would hurt him with most of the GOP...

I like Allen too but he failed on some issue questions that should have been a natural and automatic response for a conservative. I don't remember now what they were but I DO remember my surprise with his answers and that kind of turned me into more of a wait and see attitude for him. Another thing I heard him doing was using slang terminology incorrectly over and over. In a race like this one cannot succeed by trying to be something he or she isn't.

He fools few on FR. The problem would be if he got the nomination that would be a huge cluster for all of us.

(I love the "dough boy" reference so gooood)

Very astute AC. By trying for the Log Cabin Boys he could conceivably draw away from the rats whose entire constituency is at least a little gay if not a lot. There are probably only a handful of log cabin boys on our side but a bunch on the other side, shrewd move.

You're seen the same traits that made me step back and take a second look at him.

I really like Allen and those photos of him on the horse are so Reaganesque, but the sad truth is that George Allen is no Ronald Reagan,at least not yet.

I'm not so sure about the Log Cabin Republicans. If I were to guess I would think other issues are more important to them other than homosexual behavior. Lower taxes for one. Freedom to be left alone for another. Republicans may not support special rights for them but most Republicans support fair and equal treatment without making them into another freak special interest group.

I really like Newt and I'm liking him more and more every time he speaks.

Newt is a great conservative commentator.

You are absolutely right AC! That's why Hillary is vulnerable. She has to borrow Bill's and that's hard to do. His charisma is all based on lies and half truths. He is the only one good enough to BS his way past enough people to get elected. Hillary can't get the job done. She just comes off as a morbid power hungry Dyke.

Log cabin Republicans are not important in our party to McCain at all but the gay/rat vote is pretty substantial in the rat party. And you gotta figure that by now some of the gay/rats have become disenchanted just like the black/rats. You can only use voters so long before they catch on. Give them any other choice at all... and who knows.

Okay, ... an observation after the Z-man's death and the Sunday shows.

I guess it would be the understatement of all time to say I am having a hard time getting my arms around the Democrats postion on all this. I think the new name for the Democrat party is the " Contortionist Party ".

I say this because the pretzle they twist themselves into has got to be painful. For the last couple of years they have been saying we should not be there at all. That is to satisfy the BDS crowd and starts them on their contorting ways ---->okay ...here we go....strap yourself in... It's like playing Twister...so for analogy sake I will refer to the game while explaining points...

First- they can never applaud good news for it might make Bush look good. ....spin.... okay Left foot on Green.

Second - they have to be against all reason for going in ...spin... Now Right foot on Green

Third - Oh they actually voted for the use of force and are on record as saying Saddam should be removed ....spin...Now left hand on Red

Fourth- They have to trump up and sound the alarm on issues that might be harmful to America's Military ...spin...Now Right Hand on Red

Fifth - They need to applaud Military victories to show they support them ... spin ...Okay now Right hand On Yellow

Sixth - Applauding military victories means that a military victory is PROGRESS which means they have to admit being there is good ....spin... Now Left hand on Yellow.

Seventh - They chastise the Military for not getting any of AQ's leaders and say we are losing ... sping Left hand Back on Red

Eighth - After getting th Z-Man they say it does not do any good because that will just spawn more ... spin... Right Foot on Purple

You see how insane they are. In one sentence every Democrat played Twister this weekend. They said it was good we got the Z-Man but only symbolic...symbolic to what? If we should not be in Iraq then getting him should make any difference at all to the Democrats. They should really have no opinion. But they have to espouse mulitple positions to hopefully get votes and satisfy the Kos kids.

Now wait till Haditha turns out to be a terrorist propaganda stunt. I think some will end up in the hospital.

Later you'll read this and know we missed each other. My sis and her husband and little girls showed up and took me to dinner and beers so I missed the keynote. I'm at my hotel now trying to get through the threads and am beat--but I gotta do it! The comments today have been great, as always, but with the killing of Zarqawi seems like we have them squirming and FReepers KNOW it.

Thread participants: I'm proud of you guys! You're truly the best.

Phsstpok: I'm coming in early--I want to get an early start on breakfast, look around, and my first class is at 9:15. I'll be in at 7:00. See you tomorrow!

No problem, Rodguy. It's interesting to keep tabs on the Trilateralists.
