A discussion about protests by an anti-homosexual church at the funerals of fallen American soldiers turned into an astounding shoutfest on national television this weekend, with Fox News host Julie Banderas calling a fire-and-brimstone Christian preacher "the devil" and apparently condemning her to hell.
"You are the devil!" Banderas exclaimed to Shirley Phelps-Roper. "If you believe in the Bible, miss, you're going to hell!" Phelps-Roper: "You're proud. You're proud of your sins. You can't do enough sinning. You think 'gay' pride, bimbo. You have sinned away your day of grace."
Banderas: "OK, you are an abomination."
Phelps-Roper: "America is doomed. America is doomed. ... Before your eyes, missy, you're gonna see the destruction of America."

I saw the show yesterday evening and Banderas really lit into her, of course it phase Phelps. It was fantastic the way she talked her down.
I saw it. The guest was a Westboro wacko but the host sort of lost it. She shouldn't have given the guest air time in the first place.

Phelps is a Democrat (a fact often neglected in their media coverage). He was pals with Al Gore and has run for office as a Democrat several times.
Which leads some to suspect that his game is more to tarnish "religious conservatives" than any principled beliefs.

It's a "church" that espouses, not God's love for humanity, but his supposed hatred. Members' views seem like a perversion of Christianity, a religion most interpret to be based on love and the possibility of redemption. Fred Phelps is so far out, he's on the fringe of the fringe. He and his followers (mostly members of his own family) say despicable, insensitive things aimed toward grieving family members at their most vulnerable time.
So Mr. Snyder's anger at the church for protesting outside the funeral of his son, Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder, who was killed in Iraq March 3, is perfectly understandable.
But what good will a lawsuit do?
It won't bring back a fallen military hero - Matthew.
It won't change Mr. Phelps' sick views.
If anything, as Mr. Snyder's ex-wife, who doesn't support the suit, says, it will only give Mr. Phelps the attention he clearly desires to spread his repulsive gospel of hatred.
And the lawsuit holds the potential to further chill the freedom of speech that our soldiers are ostensibly fighting to protect - and indeed, spread. This case is a misuse of the federal civil courts.
That Phelps Hag needs an exorcist. She is off her Rocker and full of Hate. She definately needs to be put in a mental institution. If Phelps is the Preacher at this church, they are all doomed. Talk about a wolf in sheeps clothes. Although she didnt look very sheepish either. lol Dried up and full of Hate . Bandares should have thrown Holy Water on Phelps and watched her melt like the Wicked Witch of the West.
I wonder why Fred himself doesn't do these interviews. He's obviously proud of his disgusting views, so why does he send his daughter out to do the high profile stuff?

My husband and mom watched it last night. Mr. sneakers looked for it on FreeRepublic last night, assuming somebody would have posted about it, but this is the first mention I've seen of it. Darn, wish I'd seen it myself! I was watching a movie upstairs. He said they were yelling at each other!

When Fox first started that segment on crime, they put Julie in that spot .. and I just loved it. Then they replaced her with a woman whose voice is like nails on a chalkboard. I was so disappointed because I thought Julie did such a great job.

I realized something this afternoon. I was arguing with a hard core liberal (DUmmie material) when I realized just how much the hard left behaves like Phelps and his bunch.
With Phelps, everything can be blamed on homosexuals. With the hard left, everything can be blamed on the USA. Both groups are incapable of fun because they can't think of anything but their hate. You can't hold conversation with them because they always drag the talk off subject to the object of their rage.
I have discovered that you can send the hard left off the rails if you call them "fundamentalist liberals".

here in florida they don't require a season for harmful creatures. You can shoot them pretty much anytime as long as its not down town. One example is the wild hogs running around and destroying crops en masse. Come to think of it they look remarkably similiar to that phelps lady.
