"I am FURIOUS! The City of San Bernardino has voted to NOT DISPLAY AMERICAN FLAGS on national holidays since it might offend somebody. It took two votes--the final one was 4 to 3. Along with others, I am organizing a rally at San Bernardino City Hall for Wednesday beginning at 3pm.
WITH AMERICAN FLAGS.
Lacey A. Kendall KCAA/NBC Radio News (909)885-8502
I refuse to set foot anywhere in the state of California because the whole damned state offends me. I won't even drive through there on my way to and from Arizona.
AMERICA: You have the right to pursue happiness. You do NOT have the right NOT to be offended.
WTF is WRONG with these people?
If we can't display our own flag in our own country, it's the beginning of the end if it's not alread here. Outrageous.
Boycott San Berdoo.
Welcome to FR kyecal.
Do you mean THIS Wednesday coming? as in tomorrow? Wish I could be there..kind of late to plan a cross country flight--but my E-Mail to them stating my outrage is already on the way for you!
..."the truth on this matter is there. It's simply not available on this blog."
Whoops, it is available on this blog now - because you posted it. We appreciate the effort, and it certainly adds to information flow. That's what this site is for; if you post it, it can be debated and picked apart for all it's worth. A few tips, though:
When posting, make sure to put your point into the body of the article whenever possible. People see the article, but frequently don't read the first few replies, because they "scroll away". For instance, you will get many replies to the body of your article, but few will realize that you are challenging the statement because it is in the first post rather than in the body!
Thank you so much for "getting the facts out there" on these issues - the information is welcome. Many will check into it, so we thank you. Please feel free to come and post whenever possible!
Thank you for the information, and welcome to FR. Ignore the first few people who jumpted the gun.
Thank you for bringing some facts to light on this.
I did not join the hysteria regarding this and believe most FReepers did not.
Welcome to Free Republic! Stick around and keep us informed.
Lacey....if you haven't already, you might read this and then pm Lyman to coordinate your efforts!
PROTEST RALLY to fly American Flags on FLAG DAY - San Bernardino City Council won't!
I'm with you. The whole west side from WA to CA does not interest me in the least. The fact of the matter is that the crazies from CA have moved up to and own the west side of OR and WA.
I appreciate your efforts but it is confusing unless one reads your post #1 that denies the accuracy of the assertion.
The original post therefore looks valid and gets everyone, of course , outraged.
A reporter should know these things..
Good grief! Will you look at all the knee jerkers who didn't bother to read the whole post before calling for mass hysterical over-reaction.
Isn't that "Flag Day"?
It's a matter of reading thoroughly before posting... too much trouble for some.
I had my pickup truck gif ready to go and then read the rest..I love that gif,too..Boo Hoo!!
Bakersfield is not to bad :-)
Bakersfield is not to bad :-)
Lacey, many, many thanks for trying to help clarify matters.
If, truthfully, that was your intention.
However... You cite an exact quote that I only posted on FreeRepublic...
... which I already clarified with an update two days ago.
... and you only signed up today...
Interesting that you used the OLD post. Perhaps it was emailed to you and you really didn't know where it came from. But then, why would you have came here rather than any other site?
But Lacey, even more interesting is the fact that you do not disclose that you are employed by the same Liberal talk radio station where Dennis Baxter, the Council member who voted FOR the Flag before he voted AGAINST it--is employed.
So FReepers, there is considerably more to this story than meets the eye. I hope to see you Wednesday at 3 pm.
By the way, Lacey, protocol around here is if you talk about somebody, you 'ping' (CC) them as a courtesy.
Welcome, if you are at heart objective and truthful, to FreeRepublic.
That has been pointed out. It is not about the flag that is flown every day.
to drape a huge flag that hangs over the entire city hall building
That is an inacurat statement. The flag is 22 by 30 feet in size. In order to "drape a huge flag that hangs over the entire city hall building the building would have to be just a little bigger than an outhouse.
It's simply not available on this blog.
Blog? This isn't a "blog." Did you mean to post this on a blog somewhere?
The only thing you brought up that I didn't know was that the Mayor can have the flag draped by a simple phone call. Thanks, could you provide a reference and a link to that information?
just a taste of what our country would become under the leadership of liberals. JUST SAY NO to Libs.
Gotcha! ;~ )
"I refuse to set foot anywhere in the state of California because the whole damned state offends me."
Good. Your presence would only lower the average IQ anyway.
Careful, you might upset the applecart of ignorant righteous indignation that must be regularly trotted out and displayed by some of FR's finest.
Very difficult to explain that away. I also wonder why they have 'posted and run' to this point.
I guess we will have to see what else kyecal has to "contribute"
You have atrocious sentence structure and one word spelled inaccurately.
You must be a Cub reporter. You didn't check ALL of the facts before you posted. The FReeper who made that statement clarified it with further information later on the very thread in which he first made the statement you quoted.
I'll give you a B for vehemence, but an F in fact checking, sentence structure and spelling. It looks like there are plenty of job openings for a "reporter" of your caliber...if you really ARE who you say you are.
Buff, huh??? So, any updates?
