(RALEIGH) Today, in yet another in a series of nonsensical email rants, candidate for North Carolina Supreme Court Rachel Lea Hunter has compared Democrat State Party Chairman Jerry Meek to Adolph Hitler.

In response, Hunter she said that her comments were misunderstood. However, rather than retract the statement, Hunter called Jerry Meek Der Führer and changed her terminology by comparing the candidate to an Uncle Tom, a term originating during slavery where slave owners gave well-liked and trusted slaves less physically demanding duties to perform.
Clearly, the actions of Rachel Lea Hunter are beyond reprehensible, said Ferrell Blount, Chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party. Comparing Jerry Meek to Hitler is not only unfair to Jerry but it is also unfair to those who suffered under Adolph Hitlers tyranny. Using such outlandish comparisons when unwarranted trivializes the sacrifices of those who paid the ultimate price to remove Hitler from power.
The North Carolina Republican Party has endorsed Justice Mark Martin in his re-election bid for the State Supreme Court. Justice Martin is a veteran judge with over 13 years of judicial experience, and he is the only member of the N.C. Supreme Court who has worked on both the N.C. Court of Appeals and the N.C. Superior Court.
I am happy that some things, and some people, can still bring Republicans and Democrats together, added Blount. Jerry Meek and I do not agree on many of the solutions to the problems North Carolina faces, but we most certainly do agree that Rachel Hunter is unfit to serve on the North Carolina Supreme Court.
Ever notice how it's only the dems who compare people to Hitler, and if a Republican ever did that, he'd be lynched by angry dems. Hypocrisy, thy name is Democrat.
Hunter's own website says that she recently underwent brain surgery. I fear the tumor has grown back..

Rachel Hunter
can this woman get worse ping?
NC ping!
If I'm not mistaken, THAT Rachael Hunter is a Republican.
I have no doubt. LOL
"candidate for North Carolina Supreme Court..."
Her election ought to bring attention to this Court and to the courts in general.
Thank you!
Any excuse to post one of my all time favorite super models is what I am looking for.
So how has the Howlin' Howie wing of the NC Dim party taken this? I'm guessing in their usual fashion, bombarding Meek with caring and compassionate messages, screaming at him for caving to the Republicans again.
Meek said Hunters comments show that she lacks the judgment and temperament necessary for a Supreme Court Justice.
Hmmmmm.... Reading between the lines, I can only guess that Meek must know that Hunter opposes abortion. I've never heard of any other reason that would cause a Democrat to object to a Supreme Court appointee.
Thanks for the link.
I've been wondering if her campaign is actually a sociological experiment of some sort and not a serious campaign at all.
Of course, since he's black his racist comments have gone un-remarked upon.
Isn't she still a citizen of New Zealand?

If only Democratic leaders had the graciousness and decency to offer similar comments condemning such remarks every time one of their nutjob congresspeople or some other Democrat is quoted calling Bush a Nazi, which happens all too often. It might have been nice if they even offered some sort of condemnation of remarks made about putting a bullet between the eyes of the president as that New York State legislator recently did. No, they at best remain silent to such slimey remarks when made against Republicans, giving assent to such vile comments through their silence.

But I'm not falling for this "faux" play between Democrats in NC, anyway. It's a set-up.
snip:
Meeks, the party chairman, went further: "We need to hear a life story that Southerners can appreciate. A life story that embodies the theme of America as a land of hope and opportunity."
Careful. She was a Republican just a little over a year ago.
I see the rambling wreck of 'Madame Justice' carries on. I felt sorry for her at one time, considering what she had gone through. Don't get me wrong, I knew she was still a nutcase but felt a little sympathy for her. But it's like every week she earnestly tries to out-stupid herself from the week before..
This is further proof that my comment is correct.
It was on drudge just a little while ago..I checked out her website..she is a loon..rambles like a spoiled pre-teen..and what makes it even funnier..she has a link supporting cindy sheehan..takes a nut to know a nut..
Not really. She has just temporarily landed on the Democrats for now. I can't muster much sympathy for them, but that's another story. Given this latest development, I expect she'll be moving on to the ranks of the unaffiliated soon. Or maybe she'll flit back over to the GOP. She tried out the Libertarians for a while, but they wouldn't have anything to do with her, so I expect she won't be going back there. Maybe she'll go trouble the Greens for a while.
The point is, you can't make any partisan assumptions where "Madame Justice" is concerned. She's nothing more than a classic flake who happened to grab the spotlight for a while.
In other words, she wants to get elected and will say or do anything in order to do so. How else can a "Conservative Republican" transform themselves into a "Progressive Democrat" in less than one year?
Rachel Lea Hunter has no choice but to go "unaffiliated" now. The Greens and the Libertarians are no longer officially recognized parties in North Carolina. In fact, I don't think the Greens have ever been officially recognized in North Carolina, thank goodness.
