Kerry demands US troop pullout - Regrets his vote for war resolution ("I WAS WRONG")
Boston Globe ^ | June 14, 2006 | Rick Klein, Globe Staff

Posted on 06/14/2006 4:37:20 AM PDT by Chi-townChief

WASHINGTON -- Senator John F. Kerry is placing himself at the center of congressional action over the war in Iraq this week with a crisply worded resolution to require President Bush to withdraw almost all US troops by the end of this year.

The measure has exposed Kerry to attacks from Republicans and some Democrats, as critics rushed to tag the plan as a ``cut-and-run" strategy. But it also has made him a rallying point for antiwar activists.

The sweeping resolution amounts to the senator's sharpest condemnation of the war and his broadest repudiation of his own vote to authorize force. It also stands in contrast to his handling of the war issue during his campaign for president two years ago.

``My friends, war is no excuse for its own perpetuation," Kerry said before a group of cheering liberal activists who had gathered in Washington yesterday for a ``Take Back America" conference. ``It is essential to acknowledge that the war itself was a mistake -- to say the simple words that contain more truth than pride. . . . It was wrong and I was wrong to vote for that Iraqi war resolution."

Somehow, I just don't think that Ketchup Boy is in a position to demand much of anything (except maybe for an increase in his allowance from Teresa.)

Gee... cut and run Kerry.

Who'd a thunk?

He only has done that his entire life. From Vietnam, to his first marriage.

How pathetic. And this guy ran for President?

Sheesh!

Didn't Kerry worry that President Bush might "cut and run"?

At one point?

I remember that being one of the most ludicrous charges he made toward Bush, that he might suddenly get weak and cave to 'pressure'.

"Kerry has no clue how he comes across does he?"

I just LOVE that Kerry picks the morning Bush is in Baghdad shaking the hands of the new PM and his cabinet, days after the elimination of the enemy's leader and his "spiritual leader" (I still can't square spiritual leadership with sawing off the heads of people who came to help people, but then I'm not a lib), with poll numbers showing a big turnaround for the American public's perception that we will win this war, to come out with his most definitve, hard to renounce postion against the war yet.

ALL RIGHT, ALL YOU MOONBATS, STAND TOGETHER OVER THERE WHERE WE CAN SEE YOU, WITH THAT TRAITOROUS S.O.B. KERRY!

Hatred can make the most intelligent do and say stupid things.

My brother, who has expressed hatred of GWB, swallows all of the trash from the press that is anti-bush. He does genetic research and has PhD and MD degrees from Duke and yet his ability to apply critical thought processes to politics with GWB in the White House has disappeared.

I don't understand it and we just don't bring up politics on the rare occasions when we do talk.

I'm thinking of making a waffle iron with Kerry's caricature in the design. Any takers? How much would you pay? Well don't answer, because we're not going to charge you anything! That's right, it's all FREEEE! We just raise your taxes by (only seventy-five installments of) $19.95, and it's all FREEEE!!!
