Thats the beauty of listening to short 5 min reports on the radio at the top of hours. They don,t have time to "INTERJECT".

Last evening on the network news they were questioning the authenticity of the document. Rushbo made an interesting comparison ... the liberal media didn't doubt for a minute the authenticity of the Texas Air Nat'l Guard document Dan Rather trotted out on the '60 Minutes II' segment in September 2004. We all know how that turned out ...

I wish you could help me with one of my friends who had been convinced the media was right all along. Until we got Zarqawi. Then I think his bell went off and he started thinking what if?

As in what if all the media lies about Iraq being a failure, a quagmire were wrong?

And what if the strategy to rebuild a nation's military, government and institutions free of Baathists actually works?

Thank you and all of your fellow Americans who serve our nation and work so hard to protect us from the evil that would turn on our shores in a heartbeat if it could.

I hope your tagline is correct. Long, long overdue.

You're definitely on the good guy list. ;-)

Fortunately, my detractors are a small minority. I wouldn't so much mind them debating me, but they start slinging insults right off the bat, making any intelligent discourse just about impossible.

I wouldn't be above gloating at them just a tiny bit, but I can't remember their names and most of them have probably been banned for something by now. LOL

Whining! Look the names up. Takes anly about ten hours of paging through "prior posts" pages.

Most -- nearly all -- freepers never gave up heart on this WOT in Iraq. Don't besmirch the whole of us for the sake of a grudge against one or two.

During are first engagements in the WOT - I consider Iraq and Afghanistan engagements in the same war - I remember how the media, right out of the box, declared in both cases the military was in a quagmire. Then, while still wringing their hands about Afghanistan, we took over the country. Then, in the middle of wringing their hands concerning Iraq, the statue was pulled down and we were in Baghdad. I wondered at the time who would see this on the news and have the light bulb go off, that the media is lying to us. Sometimes I despair that not many do. Listening to Hannity's Man On The Street, I get the feeling that NYC could go up in a mushroom cloud and survivors would have no idea what happened or why. Yet, maybe many people are seeing the lying media for what it is and quietly making their voices known at the polls.

Oh, please tell me you're not one of those humorless, bossy people.

Read the first sentence of the second paragraph on my Post #27, please, before you start accusing anyone of "besmirching."

And if you do turn out to be one of those, you will not dampen my elation. Things have been going far too well here lately.

Ah, you are one of those. Popping out of nowhere, making nasty little judgments, deliberately misinterpreting my posts, completely unprovoked...

Here try this:
I wish I had a dollar for every whiner, who slanders everyone else in a big group with an idoitic whine about a few absolutely un-typical cases. I'd be Bill Gates II.
How does that feel, oh sleepy one?

I certainly hope so. I always knew the media was twisting and distoring the news to their agenda, but when I came over here and saw how things really were in Iraq and then saw how they reported it, it just blew my mind.

I've seen occasions where the soldiers have gotten so mad seeing those lies on CNN in the chow halls that they've demanded en masse that "this crap" be turned off.

And I've had Iraqis ask me why the American media only shows the "dark things" and never the good. I've had to explain to them about the corruption and being newly liberated, they can't really grasp why anyone would be so vitriolic and against freedom.

This is NOT good news to the liberal Vietnam reenacting groupies fretting over that 'quagmire' in Iraq. Going to be an interesting HOT summer.

Another hit outta the park by Ralph Peters. Hope Rush reads this in full today to put an exclamation point on what he was talking about yesterday.

I can't believe you heard that crap on FR! Anyway, you're a good person for letting it move you to . . . uncontrolled laughter.

Iraq is going to completely change the course of history in the Middle East---and it's all Bush's fault (along with our fantastic troops).

I've heard it said a million times that the MSM is trying to undermine the war effort and I didn't want to believe that, I do now!

I now see the media is once again stuck on Gitmo. Scant coverage on what is now happening in Iraq. Also heard Shep Smith report last night the document they found in Iraq saying the Americans are winning could possibly be a fake. It makes you want to go ballistic, hearing this crap.

Speaking of Gitmo, maybe you can help me out. People are saying the detainees down there should not be POWs because that would give them extra rights. What rights are they talking about? As POWs, they would not be tried and they would be kept for the duration of the war. Where am I wrong on this?
