It is wrong to demonize and cartoonize one another and ignore evidence and to make false charges and to bear false witness. Sometimes I think our friends on the other side have become the people of the Nine Commandments. It is wrong to bear false witness because we all see through [the] glass darkly....

We have a curious situation in American where the religious right has tried to turn all who disagree with them into two-dimensional cartoons. I read a very moving article in one of our newspapers a few days ago in which someone in the president's hometown said all the Democrats cared about was abortion, gay marriage, and being weak on defense....

[T]hese people really do believe they are in possession of absolute truths. You won't hear about it during this convention. They'll put up their other face. But the truth is that when it all comes down to it, a lot of the religious absolutists believe that all other issues are irrelevant, that all who disagree with them are somehow almost non human, certainly not deserving of basic consideration. Therefore it's nothing but right to concentrate wealth and power in the hands of those who share their values and to constantly assert that whatever position they decide to take is right regardless of the inconvenient evidence....

Our number one threat abroad is fundamentalism, absolutism. Terror is their tactic, but it is their ideas, their hatred, their absolute certainty that they are so right that they can kill people who disagree with them -- that is our enemy.

I am not arguing that you change your deeply held convictions. To the contrary.

Your convictions--the evangelical ethos-- is precisely my premise, my starting point. It is precisely why I cannot envision how you would doing anything to help elect hillary clinton, someone who is anathema to all you believe.

But that is exactly what you would be doing if, in the next presidential election, you stay home or vote for a 'Perot.' You don't have to physically pull the lever or mark the box or touch the square next to the name 'hillary clinton' to help elect her. To think otherwise is to play with your mind.

To disseminate their vile invective, the clintons chose a church for the venue and what the they believe to be a vulnerable, easily demagogued population for the audience. (A population they've exploited forever.)

The purpose of this article is to inform you of the clintons' contemptible and dangerous scheme. To let you hear clinton for yourself.

It is critical that you know fully what the clintons think of you and to what extremes they are willing to go to harm you, to defeat you, to crush you.

You must not ignore or rationalize away this threat to your existence. As a Jew, I tend to be vigilant about such threats. I implore you to be vigilant, too. You must not make the same mistake my brethren made almost seven decades ago.

I think, to a relativist, believing anything is anathema. It is Okay to grab a Bible prop and go to church to placate the masses, but to have bible based convictions just isn't cool, at all. The pope has a new book, Values in an Age of Upheaval. I ordered it, and will be interested to read it. I think he is squaring off on this topic and has thought about it a lot.

If the Baptists do vote this week to take their children out of government schools, that together with books by the pope and Coulter may make for a long hot summer. :)

eggy Noonan's excellent piece in yesterday's Wall Street Journal is really the story of the death of democracy. At its core it is the description of the human double helix gone terribly awry, of a denatured protein grotesquely twisted, of two mutant, tangled strands of DNA, the basest imaginable of base pairs linked permanently, as firmly as guanine to cytosine, bill inexorably to hillary and conversely, doing what they do best, and doing it relentlessly.

Killing.
Killing insidiously.
Killing as they pose and pander and feel our pain.

My only complaint is with Peggy Noonan's title.
The Mad Boomer, doesn't begin to capture candidate clinton considered separately or even taken as the self-anointed "twofer," permanently conjoined at that cavity conspicuously empty except for ego, that place where brain and soul and guts and heart normally reside.

This is not to say that she -- that they -- are not both quite mad and of that self-indulgent, arrogantly, ignorantly solipsistic age sandwiched flatly between yesterday's innocence and tomorrow's insouciance. Rather, it is that their madness and their boomerism don't even begin to explain their noxious influence: The cloying, internally inconsistent clinton calculus. The unspoken clinton threats. They permeate the atmosphere like a coiling miasma, choking off all freedom.

When she wrote "The New Colossus," Emma Lazarus hardly had in mind this pair of mutant, deadly, twisted aliens.

So forget Arkansas-Illinois carpetbaggery and standard issue muckraking. The clintons are aliens of quite another sort. They are extrinsic, not of this world. They are inhuman. They are dehumanizing.

You may recall that the first act of this story of two degenerates maintained by iterating idiots, farce of farce ad infinitum, was generated quite by accident by iterated AlGoreRhythm, who, it should be noted, is now himself the object of iterated calculation by said degenerates who want iteration 2004 all for themselves.

And thus the odd bit of bloody Gore in Act II: The ugly sight of a corrupt, bottom-heavy hillary self-impaled on the horns of a Treason-Dilemma- masquerading-as-a-Third-Term-Dilemma-masquerading-as-a-Senate-stampede, for example, or bill's recent unsolicited, underwhelming Times interview on the Gore candidacy.

Act I was called "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover." Ostensibly the tale of the wife of a bloodthirsty crime boss who finds romance with a bland bookseller between courses at her husband's restaurant, it was in fact the Thyestean and moveable -- yet unmoving -- feast of hillary clinton at her husband's sham restitution. (Note the reciprocity. The sham restitution in Act II is all hillary's.)

Food, color coding, sex, murder, torture and cannibalism were the exotic (if mostly horizontal) fare in this beautifully filmed but brutally uncompromising modern memoir which passed as ancient fable about nouveau riche rapacity.

Not for the faint at heart, Purple Hearts or queazy stomachs, this depiction of the gross debasement of America was heavily peppered with irony and dark humor throughout.

Although she baked no cookies, didn't do illicit land or cattle deals and stood by no man, hillary clinton starred in the triple role of the Cook, the Thief and his Wife. Her lover was played at once vaporously and in workmanlike fashion by the ghost of Eleanor Roosevelt, with Janet Reno, between her stints rendering intermittent injustice for the Husband, as the reliable stand-in. Sidney Blumenthal was the stand-in for the Cook and Craig Livingstone the stand-in for the Thief. The last-minute addition of Christopher Hitchens as the snitch was a stroke of absolute genius notwithstanding its cerebral accident, its predictable-if-perfect pitch (or its facile alliteration).

Although Act I had no rating, the new clinton soccer-mom directive will require a photo ID for any viewer without independent proof of illegal alien DNC <-> DNA sequencing.

 

In Act II, rabid anti-clinton voters, roughly 33% of the U.S. populace according to as-yet-unpodded pollsters, become increasingly aware that they are disappearing in droves and being replaced by alien pod replicas that have their physical attributes but lack all anti-clinton affect.

If Act I was a thinly veiled allegory about naked clintonism, then Act II is a parable about the plan for world domination by the Establishment, aged hippies in pinstripes all, with their infantile, solipsistic world view amazingly untouched by time.

Have been surprised how often He's done the latter within a few months to a year in a situation that had gone on maybe a decade or more.

I don't understand about His bothering so well with our prayers so much--other than His love and giving us a part in His majestic plan for our benefit . . . so magnanimously.

I do believe He takes some folks out prematurely to what they'd otherwise have had because He doesn't want them to rack up more punishment by staying around longer and doing more horrid things. And, I think our prayers can have a part in that sometimes.

The clintons and the Left fear the Religious Right politically.

At a minimum, the strategy of the clintons and the Left is to marginalize the Religious Right.

In the end, their plan is to quash them.

The clintons and the Left will continue to attack Evangelical Christians by equating them with the islamofascist terrorists. (How better to get the support of all other Americans?)

Their tactic is conflation and their implicit argument is that fundamentalism is both a necessary and sufficient condition for terror; that the Religious Right are terrorists and must, therefore, be quashed.

BTW, the clintons and the Left are working an alternative scheme simultaneously: to split the Religious Right off from the GOP by offering up a Perot or a surrogate Perot in the form of a 'values' issue.

The clintons' and the Left's ultimate goal is to quash the RR, but short range, they look to minimize the RR's value to the GOP. They will do this by splitting them off in the voting booth and by marginalizing them in the public square.

He and his followers are liars and fools and who continue to rob, kill and destroy all good things that this once Christian nation provided by the protections and rights of the everlasting and one true God and his anointed one, Jesus Christ by the American forefathers who knew such evil men would try to destroy America from within. The Clinton's are of them that believe there is no moral absolutes (that is, no God) and therefore continue their assaults on the blood bought Constitutional liberties and privileges afforded to Americans by the Bill of Rights, they and the atheist left continue to destroy America from within and would steal it's sovereign rights and monies with the help of the communist ACLU and the U.N.
