THE HAGUE, Netherlands - Former Liberian President Charles Taylor arrived in the Netherlands on Tuesday for a war crimes trial on charges accusing him in the death, rape or mutilation of hundreds of thousands of people in West Africa. An airport official said Taylor's U.N.-chartered plane landed after a direct flight from Sierra Leone, where he had been in detention since March 29. Two police vans and five motorcycle outriders were waiting on the tarmac at a small commercial airport south of The Hague.

So we can expect a verdict by 2012?
Maybe by 2011. He'll get 30 days in jail, and 2 years probation.
(sarcasm on)
How can you concentrate on these minor incidents when the horrors of Abu Ghraib are being largely ignored by the right-wing controlled media??!!!
Considering his history of diamond trading with al Qaida, let's hope so.
Hey! I thought Chuck Taylor died. How'd he get to Liberia, anyhow. Man, I used to wear his shoes, you know.
Oh...wait...never mind.
not yet...he'll have one after they "find" him dead in his cell...
Hey, as I remember it, he and Pat Robertson were also mixed up in that diamond mining business.
If it takes as long as Slobo's trial, he'll be in DEPENDS before it's over.
I suspect there are a few black caucus members and race baiters in this country that are a little concerned about what Charlie may say in court.
He's never been accused of "having a heart"
What verdict? He'll just die in prison, even though Europeans don't believe in the death penalty.
He'll die a natural death in 2025, halfway though his trial.
Chuck Taylor high-tops? Me too! Black, of course.
In fact, I wore them during the Civil War/war between the states.
Don't forget that Taylor is a good friend of Jesse Jackson. They both have a history of corruption and thievery.

Looks like I had the wrong Chuck Taylor, there. I don't think this guy had much of a chance at being the head of Liberia, you know...
So that's Chuck. We used to say, "Check out my new Chucks."
I wonder why they named a basketball shoe after a librarian.
I thought they were probably giving him some kind of award.
