U.S. District Judge Sam Sparks of Austin will decide whether Republican officials can name a nominee to replace former U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay on the Nov. 7 general election ballot.

On June 15, Republicans removed the suit, which Democrats filed in Travis County district court to block GOP officials from selecting a new nominee, out of state court and in to the U.S. District Court for the Western District in Austin.

Those judges in Austin aren't noted for being objective. This is a good developement. In any event, it's a Federal election.

Once a primary has been completed there are two ways under Texas law to replace the candidate on the ballot. Either the candidate dies or moves out of the district. DeLay has moved. That should be the end of it and a replacement allowed.

And the democrats have no shame on these matters. They run dead people and have their wives take the seat. They have a corrupt politician bow out because he is clearly going to lose and bring in someone else at the last minute to win. And that is just two quick examples.

The democrats have NO shame at all in these matters. They are against democracy, voting, and your civil rights.

Please dredge up memories of the Torch and Lautenberg (New Jersey). Replace DeLay with no penalties.
